What a special place! Such a relaxing and enjoyable experience soaking in the springs and relaxing on the healing mats. The only downsides are the rooms are smaller and bathroom situation for larger people is a hazard for hitting your head or bumping into things. That's the charm though as it's a true historic building and it is part of the experience. The area is so beautiful and quaint, highly recommend a trip to explore this historic region with the beautiful foliage and the homemade fresh meals. What a treasure! You must book the pampering experience separately and times are limited. A great family owns this place and does what they can to make you feel comfortable and at peace :)

Food was a solid 5 star. Property was clean but dated. Host was very accommodating. Overall it was a very relaxing experience.

The owners may be going for “olde-timey”, but the place comes off as dark and creepy. There’s an overload of dolls and knickknacks - everything covered in dust. The bathroom door in the room didn’t even shut all the way. A simple planer could fix the problem. It seems maybe these folks bit off more than they could chew when it comes to maintenance. It’s too bad because there aren’t many options for accommodations in the area. This place could really be quaint if they cleaned it up, fixed a few things, and turned on some lights.

We are sorry you didn't appreciate our hotel. You are right, we are going for the "olde-timey" feel in our 100-year-old historic inn. The antiques and knickknacks are part of the magic that most of our guests rave about. We have to disagree about any dust. The property is old, but it's not dirty. It's too bad that you didn't take advantage of all the things that draw people to this hotel: the food, the mineral baths, etc. You didn't even join us for the delicious cooked breakfast which was included with your room. We understand that our property isn't for everyone, and if you want a sterile looking place with miminal personality, Red Boiling Springs and the Armour's are not for you. If you want atmosphere and the experience of a peaceful historic inn full of great amenities, we are your place!

Much needed Oasis

It was so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting out in the swing on the porch in the evening.

I had to be up and out very early each morning before the full breakfast was being served. The staff was more than happy to place some breakfast foods out in the dining area and refrigerator for me to have before I left each day. The homemade banana bread was especially delicious! I was actually in that area on business and it was nice to come back each evening to place more like home than a hotel.
