A Northern MN getaway on beautiful Thunder Lake and area!


Welcome to our cabin! This family cabin sits overlooking Thunder Lake, it has a deeded access about 50-60 yards to a private dock, and hard sand shoreline. This nicely remodeled 3-bedroom, 2 bath home features 3 gas fireplaces, full lakeside deck, large yard, and plenty of parking. The deck is a perfect spot for that first morning cup of coffee while watching the sunrise or to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening while listening to the sound of the Minnesota loons.

This property offers your group a perfect place to getaway from these uncertain, stressful times. Excellent internet for those of you that work from home and/or students that schools are in remote learning.

Thunder Lake, one of the premiere lakes in Northern Minnesota, is a 1346 acres lake with 16 miles of shoreline. Thunder Lake is known for its crystal clear waters, clarity is 16-17 feet, great fishing, with 2 islands and a sandbar.

During the fall, this area is perfect for fishing, 4-wheeling, and hunting. Also you can enjoy hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails for a winter getaway.

This property features a king size bed in the master bedroom with a gas fireplace, a queen size bed in each of the other two bedrooms. It has a separate bathtub and walk-in shower in the main bath, and a walk-in shower in the second bathroom. Enjoy a large, fully equipped kitchen with a convenient mudroom, including washer/dryer.

This property is located 10 miles from Longville and 9 miles from Remer. Both communities offer a variety of stores for your shopping convenience.

Great cabin, beautiful location
Colleen’s cabin was very clean and had everything you need, plus!! Comfortable home, very well decorated with MN up north decor. Great lake for boating, loon watching etc. Deer coming through the yard in the evening. Nice dock for boat. We spent many hours on the lake, introducing our new puppy to swimming. Also, just sitting and dining outside on the deck, enjoying the view! Thank you Colleen for a great getaway! We hope to be back soon. Curt, Gail and River

Wonderful lake home!
Our group absolutely loved our stay! This home is beautiful, clean & has everything you need. The host is friendly, quick to respond & very accommodating. We rented a pontoon for the week & had the best time boating & swimming. The guys fished every morning & caught lots of fish. We hope to stay here again!

Awesome Cabin
We had a wonderful stay. Cabin is super clean and has everything you need. Our kids loved all the games, kayaks, and paddle board. Dock is shorter than what’s pictured, but worked great for tying up our boat and hanging out on during the day. Loved being in the bay as it was quieter and calmer on the windy days. Highly recommend this cabin and would definitely stay again!

Heaven on Earth
Beautiful place to stay. We love staying in northern Minnesota. This was the Best place we have ever stayed. Colleen keeps her property so well maintained inside and out. With all the rain they have had this year we thought our entire stay was going to be indoors because the mosquitos would be so bad. In the 6 days we stayed there we did not encounter any bugs. She has the yard sprayed and this makes the trip all the better. We saw deer, turkeys, eagles, osprey, grouse and you can listen to the loons throughout the day and night. Can't say enough about this place. Thank You Colleen

Wonderful and fun property!
Overall our stay was great! The place was clean and had everything we needed for the week! We were also able to dock our boat which was convenient. The hosts were super nice as well. One thing to be mindful of is the smallest bedroom does not have AC. It does have a large fan which was handy. The weather was cool enough all week that window open with the fan on worked just fine for us. The lake is great for boating and kayaking. The bonfire pit was also excellent. They provided all the wood too! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some lake time.

Great peaceful cabin!
My family of 5 stayed in this cabin for 8 days and it was the most peaceful cabin we have stayed in our 14 trips to Minnesota. The hostess was extremely good to communicate with and the cleanliness of the cabin and the property was second to none. I would highly recommend staying at this cabin

Cozy with a great view of an amazing lake
The host was quick to respond and check in was really easy. Everything was well stocked. The outside area was fabulous for relaxing. The small trek to the lake down the hill wasn’t bad at all. We tied our boat to the dock while we were there with no problems at all. The dock is new and very nice - it is short if you are tying your dock to it.

Great family vacation.
Cute cozy cabin that made it feel like home away from home. It was the perfect family summer vacation for a family of five with three teenage children. The basketball hoop was awesome. We loved all the yard games, puzzles, books, games and so much more this cabin had to offer. We lived thunder lake. Clear swimming for the kiddos. Wildlife could have remained hidden (snake, fox) but loved to see the hummingbirds. Caught lots of fish and brought home some 2. We rented a pontoon from wheeler marine for the week which was so nice to have. We loved the sand bar for swimming. We watched movies in the evening time. Fire also a few nights. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise with great views from the cabin. We brought our own kayaks but there was one at the house for use. We also loved the paddle boat! We brought our ATV and loved that the trails were so close. Would recommend this cabin for a family with teenage kiddos. Hill was the only obstacle but for our family it didn’t really matter. It was a great week!

Great weekend of relaxing and fishing!
We had a really wonderful time at the cabin! The only true surprise was the new dock that was much shorter than the advertised dock. It was a bit of a bummer for fishing off the dock but we also had a tandem kayak to enjoy the lake! Unfortunately our pontoon didn’t work so we couldn’t get the entire family out on the lake but that is no fault of the cabin! The cabin itself was wonderful and soooo comfy! We caught a lot of largemouth bass and just a couple smallmouth but it was so much fun! Thanks again Colleen! We had a wonderful time!

Our stay here was wonderful! The cabin was very clean, nicely decorate and cozy! Colleen was very nice and responsive. Check in was easy. We loved our stay here! We played yard games, had campfires and enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning, as well as stargazing at night. The beds were comfortable and everything was well stocked. This property is perfect for a fun girls trip. Love the layout of everything, and how easy everything was for us when we arrived. Communication was excellent. The hill killed us a bit, but it was still a perfect place. The deer stopped by quite a bit which is always a delight.

Wonderful Vacation Cabin
We certainly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The cabin is nicely decorated with touches of “up north “ throughout the cabin. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the lake along with the fire pit and the nice flat yard for playing family games. The only downside to the property is the path that you need to take to get down to the dock. It can be a bit precarious and difficult to manage, especially for the older folks.

Great Family Vacation
We had a great week at this cabin with our kids and grandkids (5 and 7). The check in process was easy and Colleen was readily available to answer any questions during our stay. The lake is gorgeous!! We had our pontoon and kayaks with us and a paddle boat was there for use so we spent a lot of time on the water. Our grandkids swam around the dock area and enjoyed riding around the lake in the tube. The sand bar was a great place to hang out too! The cabin was clean, comfortable and very well stocked. The lawn was well maintained and we loved the fire area and the basketball hoop. There were lots of outdoor chairs and the view of the lake was spectacular! The only con I can think of was the path down to the dock. The paved road belongs to another owner so the only allowed access is a rather steep walk on loose gravel which was cumbersome for me with my arthritis. Overall, it’s a wonderful cabin and beautiful lake and I definitely recommend it!

Our time at Colleen’s was awesome! When we arrived we were surprised to find floaties and tubes for our use. They also had all kinds of yard games! I have not seen a better stocked kitchen at a lake place! The water on Thunder is a gorgeous dark aqua color and so very clean. There were many loons to see and listen to! Colleen was a delight to communicate with and attentive to any questions we had! We would not hesitate to rent again!

Week of relaxation and fun!
Our kids look forward to our week cabin stay each summer, and so do we! This is our second stay at this cabin and it was even better then the last. Beds are comfortable with good quality bedding, comfort setting, quiet neighbors and beautiful view. The lake offers great fishing, clear waters, a nice sand bar to park the boat at and hours worth of tubing. There was a large floatie down at the dock this year which we spent many hours relaxing, tanning and reading on. Kitchen is well stocked for our cooking needs, grill, pizza oven were great. Washer and dryer make for an easy return home with less to do when you get back. We were not impressed with the one meal we had at the Deer Haven restaurant on the lake this year. Very much bar food, at best. Might have been an off night, who knows?! Grateful for our stay and opportunity to be together and enjoy a week of summer! Thank you! We hope to be back again!

My partner & I enjoyed our stay very much. The house & property exceeded our expectations. Especially enjoyed watching several deer from the patio most mornings/evenings. We brought our boat & did a fair amount of fishing on beautiful Thunder Lake. The only drawback was the walk back up the hill from the dock to the house -- we are both 70+ & discovered we are out of shape! Other than that, would highly recommend this property.
