This little brown stone house, available year round, with reduced rate off-season, is perfect for a couple, or individual (see pictures, could accomodate small children too). If you want a real Greek town that is not a tourist town, but only a fifteen minute drive from popular Lindos, and only a five minute drive to both Stegna beach and Tsampika beach, this place is ideal. The town of Archangelos has well-stocked supermarkets and amazing fruit and vegetables stores, for food, and specialty stores for computers and phones, and other services, car rental and tour agency, and full medical services, pharmacies, and restaurants and gyro and souvlaki places, within a short walking distance of the house, which sits on the side of the hill next to the acropolis/castle, overlooking the town. The neighborhood is quiet and the house is tucked in a private corner under grapevines and nestled in a terraced garden. The castle ruins/acropolis is steps away, and contains the small church of Saint George and has a stunning view of sea, mountains and town, and is generally deserted, no tourists. (There are no gates or admissions fees, just walk right in any time of day or night and enjoy sunrise, sunset, moonrise, etc.) Also within a few steps are several lovely churches, some Byzantine, with lovely frescos, and the main parish church of Archangel Michael is also steps away. Monastery Tsampika is a five minute drive or just under half an hour walk. At Stegna beach are several topnotch tavernas with traditional seafood and other Greek fare. The location of the village on the East coast halfway down the island is convenient for sightseeing by car or bus all around our lovely island. The house has WIFI and AC, and for winter stays, heat and a beautiful stone fireplace.
