The house is beautiful

Just don’t open windows as most are broken and the fireplace was blocked or not cleaned so smoke was coming into the room, the size and location is perfect and we all enjoyed our time together in the house

Thank you for staying at Captain Lock's Cottage. We are pleased that you had enjoyed your stay. In response to your observations:
- Linen is an option that is available for all guests for an extra charge.
-There is one window that is in need of replacement in the cottage which has been ordered. All other windows are in good working order for a 150 year old cottage
-The fireplace has a baffle that needs to be in the correct position in order for the fire to draw correctly. It is an effective fireplace that is lovely to sit by.

Beautiful beach get away

The place felt incredibly homely, with a beautiful garden that was perfect for relaxing and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. It’s just a quick walk from the beach, so I could enjoy the ocean breeze and stunning views whenever I wanted.
The house itself is gorgeous, with thoughtfully chosen furniture that gives it a cozy, welcoming feel. The host clearly put a lot of effort into creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and it shows in every detail.
If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway by the beach, I highly recommend this stay. It’s truly a gem, and I can’t wait to return!

Most gorgeous cottage

Too Little Too Late
Publié le 30 août 2024 sur HomeAwayNo herb garden as advertised. No hot tub as advertised. No firewood supplied. Felt 'cold' with no 'feelz' just a business venture. Won't be booking this place again.

We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay. We do take our clients comments seriously. In response to your concerns :
- We do have rosemary, mint and parsley growing in the garden We are sorry that you were not able to find these. We periodically replant the herbs in the garden as we do the cottage garden.
- Firewood isn't supplied as stated on the website and your arrival details Firewood is costly and time consuming to supply which would escalate the accomodation rates greatly
- There are three reverse cycle heaters in the cottage which keeps the cottage cosy. The open fire is an additional treat for those that wish to use it.
- Captain Lock's Cottage is a historic home which was built in 1869. It has been kept as close to the original as possible. The character is one of yesteryear.
-There is no hot tub advertised on the website although we do have a large claw foot bath.

Oldy-worldy charm in quiet location
Publié le 1 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayA lovely old cottage with all mod cons in a quiet street just a minutes walk to the water. Views of western port bay from the deck, and it was lovely to be able to open all the doors and take advantage of the wrap around verandah and the multiple sitting areas to just relax with a book and a drink. Our second time staying here and hopefully not the last.
