Perfect Hiker Basecamp

It’s also about 15 minutes from Carver’s Gap where you can hike northbound on the Appalachian Trail to experience great views on several balds. Southbound on the AT will take through magnificent spruce/fir forests up to Roan High Knob. We also drove 2 hours to Grayson Highlands State Park to see the wild ponies and more spectacular scenery.

Very nice except description
Publié le 12 nov. 2023 sur HomeAway50 yards from road, 50 yards to next stoor cabin, no hot tub/jaccuzzi, fake fireplace, and no back yard or hiking area. Everything else was very nice and as described.

Hi Bobby - I'm sorry the cabin did not meet some of your expectations. However, the description does not list a hot tub or Jacuzzi and the fire place is listed as being propane (perhaps you confused our cabin with another listing). The back yard is extensive and if you hike up, there is a road that takes you through the woods and around the property. We are also located less than a 1/4 mile from Roan Mountain State park where there are many hiking trails as well as Carvers Gap just 5 miles away. The listing also mentions the neighbors cabin in the House Rules. The Doe River separates the cabin from the road, however the road is more noticeable in the fall / winter months since the trees have lost leaves.

Great stay

Perfect getaway
Publié le 9 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayPerfect for a little getaway for an anniversary or small family vacation. Cabin is adorable, there’s neighbors but we didn’t see not one person actually lol. Was perfect!

Mountain cabin

1. Don’t wander after dark near the creek it’s marked a drop off but we arrived after dark. ( it sounded so inviting !)
2. Set your google maps before you get close - it cancels out .
3. If you sleep light - this isn’t for you . The cabin wood is beautiful but every step creaks .
We thought it was closer to our party and it was a drive - that was disappointing.
It is tastefully decorated and very accommodating. Beautiful beautiful area . Cabin was gorgeous.
