The Robertson Hotel provides a unique experience of how a hotel visit would have been in the early 20th century. It includes creature comforts we expect today. Our breakfast was delicious. We regret we did not stay longer in order to really relax. The building and the gardens are amazing.

We couldn’t agree more, Annette – our Hotel truly offers a unique experience with its timeless charm. If you are interested, we host “Murder Mystery” events that feel straight out of an Agatha Christie novel and they are always a hit with out guests. We are also known for our breakfast and next time you visit, be sure to try our restaurant, as it gets rave reviews.Our gardens, with their lush greenery and vibrant flowers, provide a peaceful escape. The Stay was good , parking was okay , the shower was very very hot and took a bit to adjust as taps were quite sensitive. Bed was a bit uncomfortable. Room was clean and tidy, bathroom was lovely in our queen room. Bar area was nice, really like the fireplaces. Staff were lovely and helpful. A big old Hotel with charm.

No food service in the evening for guests staying for the night after Xmas in July lunch. No notice was given relating to this so it was most inconvenient and very disappointing

Barry, this has recently come to my attention and am truly sorry for the misunderstanding and the inconvenience it has caused you. Each year and throughout the month of July, we celebrate Christmas in July and are known to have numerous return guest for this festive event.We are pleased that we were able to organise a charcuterie platter for you. However, we are a little perplexed, as all guests are contacted prior to arriving with a welcome / courtesy call from the Hotel. You were contacted on the 16 July 2024 and we indicated that we only had a menu for Christmas in July on that evening, therefore, no other options were available. You noted that as you were catching up with family for lunch, you were not sure of your dinner arrangement and did not want to commit to dinner for Christmas in July.We feel that there may have been a misunderstanding. All our information regarding dining is on our website and you would have received a link to our digital compendium upon booking your accommodation, which notes all our dining options, services and events.

Rooms clean. Food was great at night and breakfast would have been fantastic if there had been a plate warmer. Food was stone cold by the time we got to our table but the food itself was great 👍

If the food was ‘stone’ cold we must apologise, however we are mystified of this actually happening. Our breakfast buffet selection is heated continuously to ensure it is hot and appetising when guests help themselves. The walk from our buffet room to the breakfast area would possibly take 15 seconds, therefore we can not understand how our food was ‘stone’ cold.

Fantastic and well run Xmas in July event, including a bagpiper and Santa, the friendliest of staff. Rooms are a little tired but very clean with comfortable beds. Would highly recommend.

Our initial room had no toilet or bathroom then the second room was tiny had no storage whatsoever, not a single drawer or cupboard! Nowhere to put toiletries in the bathroom and the cold water supply so impossible to have a shower. Also no lift so moving luggage up 3 floors was very hard.

Teni, we are somewhat perplexed by your comments and would like to clarify what actually happened during your stay with us. We try very hard to be as accommodating as possible for our guests.Firstly, you had previously stayed with us and therefore would have known that our grand Hotel does not have lifts. On that occasion you booked accommodation for a King Deluxe Room that has its own art-deco ensuite. On this weekend you opted for the budget room, which is our Standard Double Room with Shared Bathroom, also known as a Heritage Room. Expedia clearly notes these particular rooms do not have a private ensuite and instead have shared bathrooms, which is reflected in the pricing. We do not select the room that guests choose to stay in, that is entirely up to the guest and their budget. Added to this, upon your immediate complaint to front desk regarding your room, we promptly offered a heavily discounted upgrade to a standard King Room with an ensuite.While we understand that luggage can be heavy and difficult to carry, we are always happy to assist our guests. It is important to note that our staff carried and moved your luggage up the stairs – not once, but twice. Therefore you did not need to carry or move any luggage yourself. We also want to mention that your larger bag weighed well over 30 kg for your stay of one night. This weight exceeds the safe working limit of 23 kg, but we made accommodations for you, nonetheless.We would like to stress the importance of being honest and accurate when writing a review and for this reason we see no need to address your other comments further.
