No one allowed for dinner
Publié le 11 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayI picked this cabin especially for its location close to my daughter 's wedding venue. Only 5 minutes away. Owners were easy to converse with and tentative. Beds were comfortable but no ensuites. Loved the robes. Huge patio but too much furniture to walk around comfortably. Hot tub was okay but very outdated, missing knobs and pillows. Kitchen was adequate but again outdated or low-end appliances. Hosted the rehearsal dinner with plenty of room, Another reason I picked this rental, and everyone was gone by about 8:30. We did not have a party only dinner, so apparently that was not allowed at the venue either. I received a message from the owners stating they noticed more than the original # staying there had shown on the door cam and I violated the agreement, while I was getting ready for the wedding. I tried not to think about the message but it definitely upset me on my daughter's wedding day. We did not have a party and no one broke anything or even used their hot tub but my husband and I. We are very conscientious about staying in somebody else's home. And of course this is not our first vbro rental or in this area. We even called to let them know that their water heater was leaking quite badly within an hour of us arriving at the house. I did not think this was a five-star home because of the outdated appliances and hot tub. Everything else was very nice and we did enjoy our stay there.

For future guests, we were aware of the water heater the morning of this guest’s stay, although not early enough in the day to get it replaced prior to their arrival. It was fully functional despite the small leak for the duration of their stay, and has since been replaced.
Our kitchen is fully stocked and we were complimented by the traveling chef from CookinGenie after having worked in multiple cabins in the area, he did not have to bring anything other than the food to cook a gourmet meal.
Feel free to bring your own hot tub pillow if that is going to be a deal breaker for relaxing in the hot tub.
This has to be the first time we have ever heard someone complain about too many options for seating. Perhaps it was the 30+ people this guest had crammed on the deck that made space a little tight for walking around. We will always address the issue when guests break the house rules because we have to ensure the lodge is in good standing for future booked guests and our family. We are not an event venue and made that clear to this guest when they booked. Our max occupancy is 16 people and no guests beyond your reservation. This is stated in our listing, rental agreement, and posted in the lodge. If you plan to ignore clear communication and property rules that are in place to ensure everyone's safety when renting this family lodge, please book somewhere else.

Publié le 24 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWith all things considered, this house does not live up to the cost. It was "fine", but considering $1,000+ a night, "fine" leaves a bad taste. The beds were some of the cheapest mattress I've slept on in a long time. They're sloped to the center. The sheets are cheap. The craftsmanship in the house is poor. Did it work? Yes, but I could have gotten the same thing for $300/night. We'll certainly be visiting Hocking Hills again, just not staying here. Bad purchase on my end.

For future guests, the pricing is variable for the time of year and day of the week. The guest that stayed for this visit came at peak Fall color season when weekend prices all over Hocking Hills are elevated. Our Lodge is priced for a four bedroom three bathroom family lodge that can host 16 people. If the price is too much for a group of 6, such as this stay was, we recommend staying with us during the “off-season” (December - May) when rates all over Hocking Hills are lower. This natural log lodge was built by a professional builder who has built many other properties in the Hocking Hills area. Remember Goldilocks tried multiple beds before she found the right one. We cannot guarantee that the mattress we have will be “just right” for you; however, we do have many options spread throughout the 4 bedrooms for you to try. Please read other guests' reviews or reach out with specific questions about our family lodge.

Perfect Accommodations for our Weekend Golf Trip

Luxury Lodge in Hocking Hills
Publié le 24 août 2024 sur HomeAwayLodge was amazing overall. Beautiful place and anything you need is there. Only really thing that happened is when we got there it was not ready for us to check in. It was not a big deal because there was a Winery within a quarter mile and on the same road. Very nice Winery. We understand things happen so not a big deal.

Thank you for sharing your experience at our Lodge. For future guests reading this please note these guests were able to access the Lodge upon their arrival and the cleaners finished preparing the Lodge for them quickly. We did alert the guest in advance of their arrival that the Lodge was still being cleaned, and would not be ready exactly at their check-in time. Our cleaning team is amazing but schedules can run behind sometimes.

Beautiful Property
Publié le 5 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWonderful cabin with extra attention paid to detail…bedding, towels, robes, plenty of seating (indoors and out), dishes, glassware, small appliances, etc. It was easy to communicate with owners. Our entire family, 9 adults and 7 grandchildren ages 5-17 enjoyed every aspect of the cabin.

Happy Family Gathering
