The staff was friendly and helpful. Beds & bedding were comfortable and the room was clean. We enjoyed the little balcony with view of the harbor. The facility does need an update. The air conditioner was so noisy that we had to turn it off, making for an uncomfortable night. The TV remote didn't work and the bathtub faucet was so loose it looked as if it would fall off. I have stayed in many other three star hotels that were nicer. However, given the affordable rate and convenient location I feel we received decent value overall.
My biggest issue was communication. My initial reservation through Hotels.com with Trade Winds Inn, now a property of Hatchway Hotels, could not be honored and I was relocated to the adjacent Trade Winds on the Bay. The process required a half hour, repeatedly placed on hold, with a call center representative. Then followed a series of confusing emails and texts from Expedia, Hotels.com, and Trade Winds Inn which made me concerned that I had been double booked. None of this was the fault of Trade Winds on the Bay, but Hatchway Hotels in their partnership with Expedia and Hotels. com need to get their act together.
