Feels like home
Publié le 19 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe've tried to get a week at Grandma's every year for the past 5 years. We love everything about it: location, the dock, the comfy feel, the crystal-clear lake, the island with a mansion that the kids can kayak to. Mary, the host, makes everything so easy. The house itself is not at all sterile or fussy. It feels like a stay at Grandma's lakeside cabin -- a bit old-fashioned, warm and cozy.

Perfect location
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayHave stayed at many places on Flathead and this is one of my favorites. Had everything we needed, the beach area was great. Will be staying again some day. Lots of parking. East access to little things in Rollins and only a few miles from Lakeside.

Family staycation

Awesome Cabin
Publié le 2 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had a great time staying here. The cabin was very roomy and it had everything we needed. The kids loved playing at the lake although it was a little cold. There is an alpine coaster down the road that was alot of fun. Check in was easy. Would stay again.

Two family vacation
Publié le 20 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe stayed there with our family and another family which worked out wonderfully. It’s a rustic lake house with a a wonderful beach and dock. Our families had a blast even though the wildfire smoke was a little heavy. Would definitely stay there again!

Loved Grandma’s Cabin!
Publié le 4 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayLoved this cabin!!! We had 6 adults and 4 children (ages 7-12) and we had a wonderful time. The owners met us on arrival, and shared the history of the home. That made a huge impact on us. We all loved knowing that “grandpa built the original building in the 1960’s.” That made us so appreciative of the love of family and history present throughout the house. If you are looking for a place that is sparse and shiny like a hotel or a Pottery Barn photo, this won’t be the right fit. This is a cozy home — picture kids cuddling with fuzzy blankets on the couch after a long day of swimming and fishing.
The house is well stocked and access to the water is incredible! There is shallow water for young kids to enter, and of course the docks for jumping off and diving. Our kids caught some nice sized fish and the water toys were a hit. The only caution I would share is access to the loft is by ladder. The video on the website clearly shows this.

We Really Enjoyed the Property

A previous reviewer mentioned maybe paring down kitchen items so that occupants can find things more easily & I would agree with that. But other than that & (according to my son) maybe replacing the mattress on the bed in the basement, we really have not complaints. It is a true cabin on a beautiful lake setting in the woods where we would have been content to spend all of our time except that Glacier National Park was our reason for being in the area. Would have loved to swim in the beautiful clean water, but it was still too cold for us. We did make use of the fishing gear that was graciously provided by the owner & we loved using the fire pit by the water every evening when we returned from exploring the area. We also made good use of the washer & dryer & my son has vowed to get a new washer like the one at the cabin. Finally, the owner was very accommodating when we showed up with a large RV that needed to be parked at the property & when two of us decided to show up a day early. Overall, we really enjoyed the property.
