First of all, we would like to thank the owner for a complimentary ride to the hotel. This gave us a good impression of her and we were excited to meet her.
However, she was rather unhelpful and hostile towards us. We asked if she could kindly arrange a taxi for us in advance on our departure day but she refused, replying with a straight “No”. Meanwhile, her staff eagerly told us that he would be happy to call a taxi for us. The room we were staying in was chilly, despite the 3 old and small heaters in the room. When we gave her our feedback via email, requesting for a change of room with preferably more heaters, she responded by saying that there we no available rooms, so she gave us blankets. Regardless, we appreciate having the extra blankets. The next day, we told her that the blankets were of no use and did little to help us stay warm. She told us that we weren’t able to withstand the cold because we were Asian, which leads me to believe that not only was she an unfriendly host, she was also racist. Unfortunately, we had 3 miserable chilly nights and wore 3 layers of merino wool to sleep. In the end, she told us she had an available room that we might be interested in but we declined as the room was equally as cold as ours. Without an upgrade to the old heaters or the inclusion of more heaters in their rooms, they would not be able to provide better service to guests.
