The room is spread over two levels and connected by a very narrow, steep spiral staircase. If you are on crutches or otherwise have walking limitations, use of the upstairs is impossible. However, the bed is located there. It is comfortable. Drawback: very warm upstairs, as directly under the roof.

An adequate stay, couple of tweaks required
Publié le 24 févr. 2023 sur HotelsI really enjoyed my stay, clean, friendly, good food and wine selection and a reasonable rate.
A couple of issues with The Scotney room, 1st of which was head height in the bedroom, Im 6 foot 1 and could not stand up straight, even in the point of the ceiling. I think this should be advertised along with the futon height bed, to avoid disappointment and manage customer expectation.
Secondly, several of the light switches did not work, and at least 2 of the electric plug sockets were loose on the walls not leaving a great overall impression let alone the potential health and safety issues.

Accommodation - as described on the tin. Food - good lunch for 11 of us aged from 3 to 74. All enjoyed it.

Wonderful quirky property

The staff were amazing and accomodating to us and our children and made us feel so very welcome. The only negative from us was check in time from 3pm, we had the polar express booked at 4pm and would have loved to be checked in and freshened up before we went but this was not available. If check in could be made earlier I think it would be a positive.
