A very pleasant property overall, located in gardens with a lovely pool. However, it was very difficult to locate, with no signage from the main road at all. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, the lady of the house was extremely charming, while the gentleman was a little overbearing. The room was simple but adequate, however the bathroom could have been better maintained. The breakfast - B&B style - was good.

There was nothing to like about this property. They charge as if it is a 4* hotel but in reality it is a 1* or at the most a 2* hotel. The place looked cheap and dirty. Towels felt like they were not well washed. Breakfast was basically coffee and toast for vegetarians. I asked for a glass of milk instead of coffee, they said they will have to charge extra. I got hot shower but my wife did not. They ran out of hot water. How can Expedia list this hotel as worthy of accommodation?

Customer is of the understanding that USD 60 we charge for a double room with breakfast is a 4* rate. Our property is advertised at 3* and priced accordingly. The customer didn't know to operate the hot water geyser, until our staff showed him. Didn't inform us prior about meal requirements but expected vegetarian breakfast. Our staff served continental breakfast with ample fruits etc. after the customer informed us about being vegetarian. Our reviews on all platforms reflect the true nature of our hospitality at Serene Villa.

Very familiar hotel in the city
Publié le 11 oct. 2017 sur ExpediaIt is a small and very familiar hotel in Rathnapura! Ananda and his wife Shirani were amazing! They are very kind and sweet. Shirani coocked super exellent sri lankan dinner for us. There is a very nice swimmingpool and restplace in the garden. So it was much more than i am expectid.

Ok place, would not go back.
Publié le 25 mars 2017 sur HotelsAverage accommodation, decent home cooked food. Couple who run it quite friendly, but only reason to go to this town is for the gemstones, and ultimately that is disappointing. Ugly town full of the usual peddlers.

It's unfortunate that you had a negative experience in Ratnapura. We have many gem buyers staying at our property often and it's not uncommon that they sometimes have a negative experience when purchasing gems in Ratnapura. It is also important to understand the reviews here are for the property and not the city that the property is located in.

Stayed at Serena Villa for two nights to recover from our ascent of Adam's Peak and made a tour to Sinharaja Forset. Accomodation is perfect, very clean, nice pool, great food (breakfast and dinner) and the host couple extremely nice and knowledgeable. Higly recommend this place.

Det var väldigt svårt att hitta dit, men väl framme var vi mycket nöjda. Vi var 4 vuxna och tre barn (10, 8 och 4 år) och uppskattade särskilt poolen.
