an incredible place to stay

Publié le 7 nov. 2016 sur Expedia
Pour : The two factors that impressed us most about this hotel are the staff and the location. We were helped enormously in getting around, advice on other activities and even taken for a short waterfall tour (no charge!) by the hotel manager. He was tremendously helpful and happy to chat - but equally give us our space when we wanted to just relax. You can swim in the river behind the hotel and there is a small but picturesque tea plantation opposite. The Sinharaja Reserve entrance is just a 1km walk up the hill - but again the hotel was happy to take us to the entrance in a tuktuk. The hotel couldn't be in a more picturesque setting - and though some mosquitoes did make it into the room . . . you are in the jungle so you can't really complain! We were provided with breakfast and an evening meal at the lodge (for a cost) which I can't recommend enough! There isn't really anywhere else to eat anyway . . . but the food was simply incredible.
Contre : Parts of the lodge were under development when we were staying with them and improvements were being worked on, so I don't have any real complaints. I would recommend bringing a mosquito net, as these aren't provided in the bedrooms!
Emplacement : The sinharaja rainforest reserve is nearby and so is a beautiful waterfall.
