Post Card
Publié le 16 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayVisiting my son at Fort Drum. This town is like a post card and you can see it from the living room window.

Great location, needs work
Publié le 2 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayDisappointing level of uncleanliness Ants in kitchen and living room, sticky dirty floors and carpet. Spiders and webs along baseboards and in corners - just an unkept place. Location is great but not managed well, wasn’t ready at checkin time…. Such a bummer in a beautiful town.

I want to address your comments directly because we take pride in maintaining our property, and pest issues are something we do not take lightly. Your mention of ants is surprising, as this has never been an issue before or since. I personally checked the apartment for cleanliness between our cleaners prepping the unit and your arrival.
After your review, I texted you asking for details, and you sent a picture of a dog dish covered in ants on the carpet. It’s odd that you chose to feed your dog in the one area of the apartment with carpet.
We have had multiple staff members carefully inspect the property for ants based on your complaints, and we found no signs of them. We can only surmise that the ants came in with your pet food or that they were attracted by food being left around during your five-day stay, which cleared up once the dog food was removed.
If you had mentioned this issue while you were still here, we would have done everything we could to address your concerns. However, as you mentioned in our text conversation, you chose not to inform us until after your departure because it would have been 'an inconvenience' for you. This raises concerns about the validity of the issues you reported.
I do apologize for the delay in getting your room ready—that was our error. As you may recall, I called to inform you of the delay and offered complimentary wine from my shop, ice cream from a nearby store, and late check-out to compensate for the inconvenience.

Beautiful Place to stay
Publié le 20 août 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband, myself and my daughter we all enjoyed our stay here. It was very nice. It was a beautiful neighborhood and what I liked was the location and everything was nearby within walking distance, different restaurants, different ice cream places, as well as breakfast diners and sandwich shops only downside was the leather chair that was in the living room. It was peeling quite a bit. I had to use another blanket to put over top of it cause I was concerned about my infant, picking up the little pieces and I have a latex allergy so that the little pieces were actually irritating my skin, the only downside is I think just needed a little upgrade with the chair and the living room and maybe the chairs in the dining room could use a little upgrade but besides that everything else was very nice and they give you little bits and pieces and surprises of things that other people have left and left back decides to bring two. There is a baby gate that we left. We use the baby gate and the chest wicker chest. We push that near the stairs so there was two barriers to prevent our daughter from falling down the stairs. It’s great for adults.

Thanks Kevin! We have already replaced that chair and added a second one to the living room as well. The current plan is to build a breakfast nook with a bench seat and bar stools and get rid of the little kitchen table entirely.
We've struggled with making those stairs safe for little ones. Being a 210-year-old building, there isn't a way to move or modify the shape of the stairs. I think we're going to just have to build a custom built-in gate!

Beautiful property
Publié le 9 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe loved the charming old house. The space was huge and just perfect. Comfortable bed with the ability to close out the world. We arrived late and Alex was accommodating and helpful. The bedroom was so closed off & dark we were able to sleep late and not even realize it! The location could not be more perfect-walking distance to anything in Sackets Harbor, including great running trails. We highly recommend this space and host. We’ll definitely be back!!

Wonderful location in Sackets Harbor
Publié le 4 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis apartment is a perfect location for activities in Sackets Harbor. We did not use our car the whole time we were there.
Some details could make it even better such as screens in the windows so that they could be opened to let air in, and functioning window blinds. Stairs are steep and are right by the bathroom entrance. Perhaps a gate at the top would be a good idea.

This place was perfect for us! Literally just steps from restaurants, coffee, and soft ice cream! Great communication with the host, easy check in and out. It is the second floor of a historic house, but remodeled cute and modern, with a comfortable and relaxing vibe. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Great location in charming historic town
Publié le 4 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwaySpacious apartment in a 200 year old building, upstairs above a wine shop. Ideal location for a visit to Sackets Harbor. Apartment is simply furnished and decorated but comfortable. Owner owns the wine shop downstairs and was a gracious, friendly and easy to work with host.

Wonderful location and hosts
Publié le 21 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayThis is probably the best location in Sacket’s to stay—central to everything, all the great places: Goodfellos, Whiskey Coop, Boathouse, Sackets Harbor Brewing, and Tin Pan Galley are basically right across the street, with Chrissy Beanz just up the block! It’s cute and fairly comfortable, a little dilapidated, but I know Alex is planning to work on that soon. Alex is a super responsive host—for example, apparently the last guest took the iron they had. Within 1/2 hour of my asking about an iron, Glen downstairs at the bottle shop had one for me! Great people!
