Nice stay but not worth the price
Publié le 21 août 2024 sur HotelsSomething to keep in mind is this hotel is a processing hub for military recruits. Which I think is a main reason the rate is ad high as it is. Staff was very friendly and helpful no matter what time I went down to the front desk. The room was clean and comfortable. I can see how parking might be a problem but we lucked out and got a spot out front each time.

Reasonably nice facility, but in something of a desert, particularly if you aren’t driving.

The hotel is dated and needs some TLC. Exterior doors are not checked to make sure that they haven't been left open for others to come in without the proper access.

Property was clean and convenient. There were no extra blankets (my mom was cold)... The room was pretty dark but the curtain wouldn't close all the way, the sliver of light was very bright since we overlooked the parking lot.
The desk clerk when we arrived was very nice and got us to our room quickly. I wish there had been an included breakfast, but the coffee was good.

Air conditioner emitted a musty odor. The hotel is sooo old that no amount of updating can help it. The area is also very run down. The man at the front desk was nice. The bed was comfortable.

My first room was awful: stains on the carpet and side tables, dust webs in a corner by the window, a dead spider in another corner, a broken bathroom hook ... the elevator broke down one morning.... It was a lot. Management (very friendly) did the best they could: moved me to a new room, free grab-and-go breakfast, a late check out. My new room had a hideous and loud rattling coming from the bathroom vent that was never fixed, but it was definitely cleaner. The challenge, really, is with corporate. This location needs new carpeting, new furniture, and serious renovation. Nothing can change that it's right next to the freeway in a forgotten part of town, but if it were really nice it would bring many more customers with business at American River College just down the road (and maybe front desk staff would be more joyous). Ultimately, they tried, and I appreciated the effort. Corporate, please help these folks.
