Family time at Fripp

The condo was amazing! Kathy has it stocked with all your needs you would think of and some so you can enjoy your time there without all the worries. Very clean and great location. Kathy responded to any of my questions very quickly before and during our stay. We definitely look forward to many future visits.

Kathy was rude

The property was nice. We arrived a few hours early and was unable to get our admitted cards. Someone threw the property management had already picked them up and was going to have them in the room which kept us from being able to access anything. After talking to Kathy she was very rude and told me I was the first one to be this way this year. Beach access was limited because of the tide. But nice place and did enjoy our stay.

I was rude? Travis, you text me later and apologized for being rude yourself. You arrived on Island so early and wanted the cards and access to the unit while it was being cleaned. Total disregard for any of the rules, kept interfering with our whole process because you could have cared less. All you cared about was you were there and ready to get your party on! We did end up getting the cards to you several hours early. Thanks anyway Travis.

Comfortable and Very Clean

Enjoyed our stay at Fripp. The unit was just what we needed and larger than expected. Beds were comfortable and unit was very clean. Loved the view off the deck and the overall area of NewHaven. There are a few stairs outside and inside if you have mobility issues. Just fyi if you run into an older lady long grey hair/glasses doing garbage/dumpster patrol (at the NewHaven complex) screaming at you, just ignore her. She accused us of not staying there and using the dumpster. Even after I told her our unit number she insulted us by saying that if she went and knocked on our Unit would the people say we were staying there! If she is NewHaven Mgt, she needs to be controlled. She went as far as screaming for my grand-daughter to go back in the dumpster and get our garbage bag back out. She wouldn’t take my word we were staying there so I showed her the key with the unit number on it before she calmed down. The screaming and running across the parking lot to address us was very unnerving. My kids, grandkids and I have been coming to Fripp for 10 years and never have met anyone acting like this.

We are so happy you enjoyed your accommodations! It is such a lovely and comfortable home. And sorry about the garbage monitor. The owners that live in the Newhaven complex have been experiencing a lot of people taking advantage of the garbage receptacle. Apologies for this particular person being over the top. I did speak to the complex management about same. Thanks, Kathy

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well stocked. We were able to view the ocean. It was a great short getaway. I would definitely stay there again.

Not our favorite stay at Fripp

This was not our favorite stay at Fripp. We were not notified the parking would be underground, so we had to find another location to park our vehicle. I contacted the host prior to the trip about bringing our own golf cart. Upon arrival at the gate, we were told by secrity that we would need to register our golf cart for one hundred dollars. The remote for the sleep number bed is in need of new batteries. The bath towels and bed sheets are worn out. There were no “new towels” and “new floor mats” as described in the pictures. The black mold on the master bathroom vent needs to be addressed. We also spotted numerous dead cockroaches during our stay.

We are sorry to hear this and a little shocked too. So I went back and looked at our communication. Maybe you forgot so I copied what you said and our response to same. You said "Will it be an issue to bring our own golf cart via trailer? We replied "There is no trailer parking at the condo complex, you can park the trailer at the marina if you can find a spot or there is a private lot on the island that you can pay to store it. You will have to take the cart to the security office on the island and get the cart inspected, lights and brakes mostly to be able to use it on the island. There's a fee. They dont make it easy, sorry. We would have been happy to bring new batteries, we didn't know the sleep number remote needed them. The last guest had no problem with the remote. The towels and floor mats are new. If they were not to your liking then it would have been nice to hear from you while you were staying with us. We would have been happy to bring something different. I am sure you are trying to be helpful with your review but honestly it would have been much more helpful and productive for us both if you would have reached out to us while you here on the island. My friendly advice to you is to give your next host the chance to make things more to your liking by reaching out to them while you are staying with them. Because these reviews matter a great deal to us and to give us a 3 star review doesn't seem just.

Unit was sweet for the family. Great access, beach walks and super fun pools! Kathy was a great communicator. Would rent again.

The property was nice enough however the elevator didn't work the entire 8 days we were there. Even if the elevator had been working you still have to carry everything up a flight of stairs. I never read this on any reviews of the property nor in the property description. This was especially hard with 3 children under 5.
