Family wedding trip

Publié le 14 sept. 2024 sur HomeAway
We all loved the house & the facilities. We were a large family group, mum & dad & four of our five boys with partners & two grandchildren. The house is big, beautifully appointed, so it feels like a home from home. The kitchen was well equipped & easy to use. The pool & grounds were all brilliant too. The house & grounds are very peaceful and ideally located to access Uzes, about 10 minutes away. Also we shopped for food in St Quentin, using the local shops & market and that was all we needed. Would highly recommended the house & also wanted to say Sara, the owner provided us with an excellent information pack prior to our departure so everything was crystal clear. Fabulous! for family meals

Amazing and cozy home away from home

Publié le 4 janv. 2024 sur HomeAway
Wow, we absolutely loved our stay in this stunning home. It is even more beautiful than it looks on the pictures. The house is spacious and we had enough space for four different families. Having the pool house with its own bedroom and living room was amazing. Many of us cooked together in the kitchen, while others played games in the dining room while others hung out in the huge and cozy living room. There is so much space. The outside area is amazing and a great way to hang out too. Our kids loved the trampoline and playing in the yard. We came during Christmas. We walk to the bakery in the morning, best bakery I visited in a long time, enjoyed the supermarket in the village and bought delicious meat from the butchery. The village has everything you can wish for (supermarket, great pharmacy, bakery, butcher, some wine stores, hairdresser, etc.) We went on many beautiful walks too. Nora and Roy, the caretakers, went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They helped us locate a Christmas tree and were there when we needed them, always smiling, always so kind. Wonderful people with a big heart! Thank you for all that you did to make our stay so special. And Sara, the owner, was always there to respond and answer our questions. Again, the house is amazing, beautiful and furnished with a lot of taste. Everybody loved their beds which we super comfy. I highly recommend this house. We hope to be back one day. Thank you for everything.

Perfect in every way

Publié le 17 oct. 2023 sur HomeAway
Our experience at this incredibly wonderful home could not have been better in any way. First the property itself is stunning; a very private location on a large piece of land. Add to that a six bedroom home that is tastefully decorated, a large well heated pool with a pool house, a beautiful yard perfect for our games of Boule, a trampoline for the kids of all ages to enjoy, lots of comfy areas to relax, I could go on and on. This area of France is also very wonderful We fell in love with the historic city of Uzes just a few minutes away and the little village of San Quentin La Poterie had all the amenities we needed right at hand. Roman ruins and the Port du Gard are very close as is Avignon and Nimes, both rich with history. And did I mention that everywhere around the vineyard filled countryside is just post card gorgeous. Oh, and the food and wine is amazing and a fraction of the cost of California's fare. A once in a lifetime family gathering to celebrate my retirement and the legacy of Laurenne's mother Betty, a French born force of nature who passed two years ago. One other plus, actually two - Nora and her husband Roy. They have been caretakers for this home for over ten years and were extremely helpful. Nora does the housekeeping and Roy maintains the pool and the grounds. Both very charming people and a real plus. So to sum it up - perfect in every way. Thank you Sara!

Love country home

Publié le 18 juill. 2023 sur HomeAway
This was a lovely place to stay in Languedoc/Provence with 3 families, including kids ages 2-9. It's a great location, with bakeries/market/butcher right in town and a 7-minute drive to Uzes, which is a charming town. Also close to other places like Arles, Pont du Gard and the Mediterranean beaches. The house was very well set up for a group of families - the bedrooms are quiet and the AC was welcome at night. The outdoor space, including the pool, is lovely as well. Biggest downside is the many mosquitos - bring (strong!) repellant and buy cintronella candles!

Family get together

Attractive property. Lovely garden. Great swimming pool. Excellent facilities. Too hot to walk to village but reasonable shops and restaurants in the village. Too many mosquitoes. Bought anti mosquito coils which helped but visitors need to be aware they are a problem.

great 2 week stay near Uzes

Publié le 1 août 2022 sur HomeAway
We have rented houses for many years in Provence. Generally in the Luberon area, so the year we went west of Avignon for a change of scene. The house had 7 bedrooms...all of which had a/c, which we really didn't use much since the temperature dropped decently by the evening. 6 bedrooms upstaiors and one in a poolside apartment with its own sitting room and kitchen. The pool was the best pool we have ever used in Provence. NO WAPS !! usually there are lots of wasps...not here. Local friend of the owner came over every day or every other day and cleaned the pool etc... Great Weber grill ...lots of outdoor dining and sitting. HUGE kifds trampoline....great for our 6 year old kids and our older kids too. Kids swing. Nice gardens. The local supermarket and butcher and bakeries were 2 minutes drive. Uses is 5 minutes away. Uses is a great size town...very family friendly...nice markets...restaurants.. Bottom line...a great house...in a great location...we had grand parents..30 year kids from the US...ourselves..and our 6 year old kids. About 12 of us at any one time. We had a terrific 2 week holiday.

Charming Country Home

Publié le 24 mars 2020 sur HomeAway
Our family had a wonderful stay in this lovely country home. Although sadly our stay was cut short due to COVID-19 and the lockdown of the country, we managed to pack in six fun-filled days before heading back to Canada while we could. The location of the property couldn't have been more perfect. The heated pool and trampoline were a big hit with the grandchildren. The house is very comfortable with lots of space to spread out for a large group. We have fond memories and hope to return.

O Calme

Publié le 10 sept. 2019 sur HomeAway
There were 8 family members who traveled from KC, DC and FL this September for a first stay in this gorgeous home. By Sunday evening, each one of us had picked our favorite spot to call our own for a week in the beautiful, expansive and luxurious property. We loved dining by the pool - everyone enjoyed carrying plates and food as the atmosphere lends itself to wanting to gather. The outdoor seating was divine for morning coffee or any time of day! We loved it all! We were greeted with milk, croissants, a bottle of chilled wine and enough in the pantry to assemble a light evening meal, as Sundays can be tricky to find places to eat or a grocery open past noon. Thank you, Sara, The markets were lovely in Aix en Provence, Sant Remy, Vaison la Romaine, Villeneuve and yet we found the Uzes market on Saturday our favorite. We also loved the market Friday in Saint Quentin la Poterie! We cannot wait to return!
