Maison agréable mais !!!

La description de la maison correspond. Mais pas d'eau chaude pendant tout le séjour (le propriétaire nous propose de nous doucher dans les douches de la salle de sport de l'hôtel où les enfants n'ont pas accès ). Il semblerait que la chaudière soit en panne depuis des lustres. Canalisation des salles de bain bouchée avec des odeurs épouvantables ( propriétaire averti des le début du séjour mais un retour sans aucune réactivité). En bref on est loin du luxe avancé.

Comme mentionné précédemment, la chaudière a été remplacée. Je n'ai été informé de tout problème concernant les odeurs provenant des égouts. Cependant, cela est probablement dû au fait qu'aucune eau chaude ne bougeait. L'approvisionnement d'un nouveau s'est avéré lourd, mais toutes les choses sont maintenant bien (et devraient être pour encore cinq ans de plus!) Dans l'ensemble, cet incident qui ne pouvait être modifié immédiatement a malheureusement causé des inconvénients pour deux familles. Mes excuses encore une fois. Andrew

I absolutely loved my stay at The villa at Melia Dunas. The host was great and always quick to respond to my messages. The villa was clean, well kept, plenty of sun light and walking distance to the beach.

Lovely villa in a great location

The villa is really nice and had everything we needed for a great stay. It is a minute’s walk to the beautiful beach. Communication with the owner was easy. We would stay again.

What a fantastic place!

We have just returned form a week at this wonderful villa, location on the complex is perfect, the villa is very clean, comfortable and with great facilities We opted to go for the all inclusive offer with the Melia resort which was also great We are currently looking at flights for when we will return to Sal, and we will certainly be staying in this villa again!

Great villa, but….

What a great location. Very quiet with a great plunge pool to cool off in the heat and close to the beach. The villa is very spacious with good powerful showers. However, we had significant cleanliness issues with the bedding which took several days to resolve. During our stay, we also experienced numerous other issues, some of which the owner was already aware of prior to our stay, but these still had not been repaired after we vacated the villa. Hopefully the new fridge has been installed. If all the issues were addressed and the property was maintained to a better standard then we would not hesitate to go back, but as it stands we will look for other properties on the same resort. We have provided feedback directly to the owner, but have not yet had a reply.

What can I say about this review other than I’m quite taken aback with the one star rating! The previous guests ( who stayed just the week before ) had a totally different attitude. The words I received from them were quote “ Thank you for letting us stay in your villa, we had a lovely week. We had no issues other than the a/c blew out warm air in the upstairs twin bedroom, which may need the gas cylinder changing “ The a/c part has been ordered and so this will be fitted very soon. As for the fridge, my maintenance people have now repaired the minor glitch ( the small door on the internal freezer box now closes but the fridge itself was always working 🤔 ) As for the pillows not being new, 4 of them are fine, and 4 new pillows were handed over to the guest quite promptly...even though they are all always fitted with clean fresh pillow cases ( and sheets ). In six years of letting the villa out to guests, none have before required thick duvets because the night temperatures rarely dip below 17 celcius. Fresh clean duvets are kept in the wardrobes just in case. It is not in the guest’s agreement to have new sheets/ towels/ pillows each and every time someone new arrives ( hotels do not do this either as far as I’m aware ). Many “issues” mentioned on a daily basis to me I did find quite bizarre, to say the least, in so far as to say they were non-existent... For example, stating that no lights worked in the living room and that a mosquito blind didn’t shut, soon translated to a switch not being pressed/ the blind had only to be gently slid across and held momentarily ( for the magnets to attach ). Once the maintenance team were called out to demonstrate that, all seemed to be getting better. But, alas, not for long unfortunately: however my maintenance team were once again quick to respond to the emergency call outs, and supplied a garlic press, hair dryer, more bowels, a new can opener and some more brand new knives ( oh, and a clothes dryer ). Just one other thing to add: I am seriously considering charging guests for laundry services beyond a certain point now. As I’d pointed out, water usage is expensive in Cape Verde. This guest has created a bill for me of some €80 in 10 days ( for two guests )...a feat thus far not before achieved by any previous guests! In future this guest will not be given the opportunity to spend an entire holiday nit picking this “great villa” ...as it is regrettably no longer a viable option for her to stay there again.

Wir würden gern nochmal kommen!

Tolles Haus! Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt! Man muss nur wissen, dass das Haus in einer riesen Anlage liegt! Wir haben uns die postiven Seiten heraus gepickt (zB Joga, Beachbar) und sind das umgangen, was uns nicht so gut gefallen (riesen Poolanlagen voller Menschen). Dafür war der vom Haus ca 500m entfernte Strand extrem leer und das Meer viele Male schöner als der Pool! Wir würden wieder kommen!

Problems with hot water boiler

There were big problems to get clean and hot water in the house. Hopefully the problem will be fixed soon for other rentals.

Eva, I'm so sorry that this had to happen to you when you arrived. After 6 years with no problem, the hot water boiler decided to pack up its job. These things unfortunately happen with most things in life 🙄 However, I got onto the case as soon as I could and am pleased to report that future guests now have hot water with extra pressure to boot! Fingers crossed, for at least 6 years 😀 Will offer you a discount on any future stay Eva. Hopefully, as with most guests, you enjoyed the rest of the villa facilities ...and the beauty of Cape Verde 😎🇨🇻 All the best, Andy
