Thanksgiving Gathering.
Publié le 2 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwaySaluda Proper is a unique house transformed from some sort of storefront. It has a nice sized living area and a fun space on the lower level with a tv and pool table. The location is wonderful.
The only downside is that it feels a little under-equipped, as if the owners don’t really use it. Sparse furnishings, bare cold floors, little on the walls. The kitchen had sufficient supplies but only two wine glasses, no corkscrew. It is in fact for sale so that probably accounts for the lack of attention.
We enjoyed our time though and appreciated quick responses to questions.

Great stay at an amazing location.
Publié le 3 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayWhat a great location and very cool old building turned into a residence. Our family has been coming to the Saluda/Tryon area for a long time now. We needed a place to stay for the Tryon Beer Fest. Even with a 7 and 2 year old we had a great time. All communication including check in and check out was perfect. Highly recommend Saluda Proper and Yonder.

A watery situation
Publié le 13 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayRain and wind knocked out power on our 2nd day of 4. Roof leaked, walls leaked and downstairs flooded. Didnt expect a less than water tight home. The dehumidifiers should have been a clue that there were previous issues with water. Had to leave early due to the issues with lack of power. If there were no rain, we would have toughed out the powerless situation as there was propane with which to cook. The place is incredibly nice but not leak proof. The water downstairs was up to 3 inches deep in some places. At no time has anyone tried to contact me after i called our host regarding the issue with the water leakage.

While we did send inclement weather warnings before the storm, we recognize how unexpected impacts like power outages and water intrusion can significantly affect a stay. The home you stayed in typically performs well in all weather, but the unprecedented rainfall and high winds from the storm overwhelmed many properties in the area. The presence of dehumidifiers in the home is part of a proactive effort to maintain comfort in a mountain climate, but we understand how this may have raised concerns in light of the flooding. We regret that you felt unsupported after contacting us during your stay. This does not reflect the level of care and responsiveness we strive to provide, and we will be reviewing our processes to improve communication during emergencies. We appreciate your kind words about the overall quality of the home and regret that the extreme circumstances disrupted your visit. We value your feedback and hope for the chance to host you again under better conditions :)

Weekend Get Away

It exceeded our expectations.We enjoyed a quiet and relaxing weekend sitting outside on the upper and lower porch areas enjoying the nice cool weather. The hot tub was great at night with the cool weather and breeze. Everything about this house is amazing. We were sad of course that we had to leave. We will definitely be planning a return trip soon.

Great stay in Saluda
Publié le 9 août 2024 sur HomeAwayA very enjoyable and unique place to stay with plenty of room for family or friends. Just a short walk to downtown Saluda with very good restaurants and bars. It's great at the end of the day to relax in the big living room, playing pool downstairs or enjoying a soak in the therapeutic hot tub.

Publié le 28 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is a really great property in an amazing location. You are literally steps from restaurants, bars, and shopping in beautiful downtown Saluda.
The property is a cool old commercial building that has been completely renovated into a very large house. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax after a busy day exploring everything the blue ridge mountains have to offer.
