Large Family Friendly Chalet With Panoramic Mountain Views
Chalet Le Cretet is located on the edge of the beautiful village of Samoens, in one of the most sought after locations on a south facing hillside with panoramic views of the mountains and the Giffre Valley. From the living room, dinning room, double bedroom and the veranda over there are views of the River Giffre and valley and the mountains to the South, and from the kitchen you have views of L'Aouille du Criou mountain and the the Col de Joux Plane. In fact every room in the chalet has mountain views . The chalet has a large games room on the lower ground floor with a Pool table, Table Tennis and Foosball/Table Football which makes it great for families. The lounge and dinning area are open plan with the kitchen just off it. In winter you can sit in front of an open fire and in Summer you can sit outside and enjoy watching the wildlife or parapents fly past.
Wonderful traditional chalet with modern conveniences
The chalet Le CrĂȘtet lives up to its description as a spacious traditional chalet and the kids LOVED it... especially the games room which left us a bit of peace while preparing meals or in the lounge. The chalet is all wood, so creaky, and noise travels. The grassy area outside and views are perfect. Two super bathrooms and three separate toilets. Everything clean except under beds on 4-bunk dormitory. Short walk into SamoĂ«ns to get very cheap and handy shuttle buses to a variety of great destinations. It is in easy walking distance of the Base de Loisirs (lakes, big wooded park and water activities). Criticisms: not enough electric plugs, poor lighting in some bedrooms, dud switch in downstairs bedroom. Not really enough space for clothing in some rooms (downstairs double, upstairs double and upstairs 2 singles...) as most cupboards locked. Dining room benches short and easily unbalanced, so people kept falling off the end! Kitchen not really adequate for 16 people (we were 11): fridge space limited, cooker a bit small, oven not hot enough to cook or grill, hob not hot enough to boil large saucepan or fry. Too many saucepans, but only one water jug! TV doesn't work. DVD player does, but bring your own DVDs.
Well that said, we really enjoyed our stay and when we left, the kids were all saying goodbye to the chalet as to a friend!
