Good food. Shuttle and noise issues though.

Great food. Shuttle bus is a joke. It takes 8 people every 15 mins but the staff allow more than 8 to sign up, so when the bus does arrive (often late), it’s a free-for-all regarding who gets on. Take earplugs. All rooms have noisy doors and all night you’ll hear banging as people come and go. It’s a bargain. Get what you pay for.

overall it was a good stay. Hotel is a bit aged, but fully functional and absolutely fine. We had two rooms for a week in early February and will probably come back again. There are signs of wear and tear arround but it can be seen that owners are trying to be on top of it. Age of hotel is evident inside and out, but it is not bad or teribble for a 3* place. In general, hotel is clean but carpets are aged and could do with a deep clean ( it is understandable that replacement would be at huge cost). Bathrooms are clean and fully functional. There are new double glazed tilt and turn windows , central heating works fine and rooms have been warm. Beds are acceptable. Room service was running daily, (vacuuming around, beds made, towels and loo roll replaced) Staff was pleasant and helpfull Buffet breakfast was plentyfull and tasty We needed transport back to airport and staff on reception have been very helpfull and organised it all promptly. There have not been any surprise charges at the end of our stay Considering the cost of our stay and the fact that hotel is a 3* , all is great

Our room smelled since the moment we got there and the staff wouldn’t do anything about it. Our toilet was also broken.

As others mention, the property itself could do with some renovation which means it doesn't feel perfectly clean and modern. However, the staff are very friendly and the stay was half-board with an excellent variety of food options (including most Bulgarian classics based on our internet searches) and a I think something for everyone. Their dessert chef(s) is amazing and produces really top quality dishes. It is within a 15 minute walking distance of the ski slopes, or alternatively they have limited shuttles to the slopes (8am, 8.15am, 9am, 9.15am) returning at similar times around 4pm. We would definitely go back here

A very pleasant stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The decor might be a bit dated, but the staff were super friendly and helpful. The buffet was really varied and rather delicious. Our room was rather hot (had to open the window at night) but definitely pleasant given it was freezing cold outside. There was a free shuttle bus to the ski lifts (probs about 8-9 min) but it we also chose to walk on a few occasions, which only took us about 15 min. Overall, we're really happy with our stay - it was great value for the price and we would definitely come back.

Great Value hotel with wonderful food!

First time in Borovets and got an amazing price considering we were staying over February half-term on half-board basis. The price reflects that the hotel is dated but it was clean, comfortable and warm. It has what you need, comfy beds, hot showers, friendly staff and also a shuttle to the ski area (it is slightly out of town but can be walked). The location in the forest is lovely. The thing that makes this hotel such amazing value is the food. We have stayed in 5* hotels in Bansko before and would never book half-board but Borovets restaurants are very medicore and over priced. The chef in this hotel produces good quality, homestyle food every night and it was wonderful to just stay in and eat. Also, drinks from the bar are very well priced. A wonderful stay- we paid to use the spa at the Samakov and Rila so the lack of pool etc was not an issue.

Ski break

The hotel is what you would expect for the price, we honestly had no problems with it. The beds were comfy, rooms were clean and warm and the water was hot. Even the food tasted good
