Melody is a wonderful host and her property is very nicely maintained and decorated. Highly recommended.

Though situated near a major road, this property is very near the Concho River walk so it made it easy to find a quiet evening stroll. The room offered plenty of space but much of it is filled with too much kitsch clutter. And the breakfast could use some improvement.

Great host!

Great experience. Great communication. Very unique destination. Just stayed for one night and had to leave early so couldn’t enjoy the breakfast. One note is that the property is close to the main highway. I liked the white noise but really light sleepers may have an issue.

Loved this place! Very clean and cozy! Was in love with the decor. Beds were very comfortable slept very well. Breakfast was amazing and the owner was awesome giving us all kinds of information about the area!!

Taken aback by the somewhat dilapidated condition of the “mansion”. In bad need of paint, stair repair, yard work. Location on access road to freeway also not at all relaxing. Just thought the condition did not warrant the price of a stay. The pictures on Hotels.com and other sites are well staged and not at all reminiscent of property. Staff and Hostess on the other hand were great.

Built in 1898, the Music Garden Mansion served San Angelo and surrounding areas as San Angelo Boarding House. Now, 125 years later, after extensive renovation from roof and ceiling to the pine hardwood floors, we have received many acknowledgements of our efforts to present a "19th Century Boarding House", in a characteristic cozy, cheerful manner. Naturally, the maintenance of a 125-year-old house is challenging. "Delipidating" is a very shameful terminology which has never been used about the Mansion. You are absolutely right, the staircase leadxing up to the Tocatta Tulip Suite needs to be painted. Thank you for your observation and concern. They will be painted very soon. They were scraped and painted last year. The rain, ice, and snow have caused them to shed their sparkle. i want to invite you back to sit in the gardens with the Agave, Mexican Petunias, Pansies..... Lavender, Rosemary and Mint..... and the Hummingbirds at the Morning Glories Wall.... and see the freshly painted stairwell. Melody
