Fun in San Diego
Posted Apr. 6, 2024 on HomeAwayWe had so much fun! We loved walking to the beach daily! Took an Uber everywhere, best choice ever! Enjoyed all the attractions we could take in while in San Diego! The property owner was the sweetest and very helpful! The property was clean, and big enough for my family of 3 and had great amenities.

Short but Sweet
Posted Oct. 16, 2023 on HomeAwayWe were visiting our son in college for Parent Weekend. The house was in a perfect location to restaurants, beach, and his school. We enjoyed using the boogie boards, which were in great shape. The kitchen was well stocked. It's an older house, but it would be helpful to have more lighting. And lastly, we had returned from the beach and were putting things away and drying our towels when the owner sent me text about what we were doing. I know there are cameras, but it felt intrusive to have someone watch you and comment on your actions. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

We do not use the camera to watch the guests and comment on their actions. They left all their 6 beach towels all over the benches and chairs inside the common area and the other guests in the apartment were not able to use the sitting area. We provide cloth rack inside the apartment that the guest can use to hang up their beach towels.
The owner did not text the guest while watching the camera. The guest was informed to move their towels after she received a request by the other guests to free up the sitting area in the common space.
Since the building is next to the street and there are 4 different apartments within the same buildings, the cameras outside the apartments are for the security and safety of our guests.

Perfect Beach Vacay!
Posted Oct. 9, 2023 on HomeAwayMy family of 4, including 2 teenagers had a great stay at Meiluen’s apartment. Her communication was excellent! It’s 1 block from Ocean Beach and we walked everywhere. We brought our 2 little dogs as well and they enjoyed Dog Beach right next to OB and walking around town with us. The Farmer’s Market on Wednesday night was a lot of fun! The apartment was spotless and very nicely decorated. The a/c was nice in the living room and kitchen but the bedrooms did get a little warm in the afternoon. I would most definitely stay again if ever in the area and highly recommend!

Thank you Natalie for the nice review! The new air conditioning will cool the whole apartment if the fans are kept on and the air conditioning is keep at a low temperature throughout the day. However it is due to the high humidity of the area because of the close proximity to the ocean that makes the room feel warmer than it should be.

Close to the Beach
Posted Jul. 30, 2023 on HomeAwayThis unit is a gem! It was close to the beach, no driving necessary! Close to restaurants, a great grocery store(Krisp), cute shops- you name it!
Unit was a 2 bed, 1 bath. Super clean. Kitchen was perfect for making any meal for any time of the day. Cooking supplies were in great condition, too.

Wonderful weekend getaway
Posted Mar. 16, 2023 on HomeAwayThe communication from the property owner was second to none. She checked in frequently and had recommendations on places to go and things to do. The apartment was perfect for four. Fully functioning kitchen with plenty of utensils and cookware. 2 minute walk to dog beach and 10 from restaurants and shops in either direction. 10/10 would recommend. We’ll be back!

Attractive unit but a poor first night, then was better
Posted Feb. 28, 2023 on HomeAwayAfter the first night we were able to get heat, we could enjoy a very clean, well-supplied, pleasant space, and location near the beach as advertised. However, upon arrival we had Problems: we experienced a cold uncomfortable arrival and suffered cold temperatures through the first night - this was avoidable & should not happen. The poor first night experience started with searching for the light switches inside once we got in. The wall switches on the wall inside the door did not work, we had to find the light switches in the kitchen to turn on lights. The heat was not on in advance of our mid-February arrival so we entered a 55 degree unit. The LR wall heater wasn't sufficient to heat the BRs, the additional plug-in heater supplied by owner blew the circuit for both bedrooms. After we reset the circuit, which was outside downstairs & not lit, the inside bedroom lights came on, but the LR wall heater did not reset to heat through the night. Heating circuitry problems caused the lodging to be too cold & uncomfortable through all night. Next day, the owner sent the electrician; he explained the LR wall heat was on the same circuit as the 2 bedrooms. He advised us to use the plug-in heaters (one in the BR & one in the LR) & not use the LR wall heater to get a reasonably comfortable temperature. Finally, this method supplied adequate heating.
We should have had instructions before the circuit blew out on how to get adequate heat to the bedrooms and the living room, and to not use a plug-in heater in the bedroom when the wall heater unit in the LR is on. If we had this information, we would have had adequate heat that first night and it would have been a much better experience.
Not sure we’ll go there again.

We were sorry that Cay did not communicate to us that she was checking in late to the apartment and she needed it heated up, otherwise we would have warm up the apartment for her arrival. Typically we only keep the heater on inside the apartment while it is vacant for the months of Nov to Jan. We have provided ways for our guest to keep warm and it has worked so far. With a little patience, all the heaters available are able to keep the apartment warm. There are lights in every rooms in the apartment and we also supplied extra lighting as requested during her stay. We do apologized that she didn’t get the experience she wanted but many of our other guests did. We will definitely review her comments and make improvements to it.
