I gave two stars because the hotel did let me cancel with full refund after we stayed one night, but that’s the only reason. I paid for a beach view room and while I could see the beach, a parking lot was my primary view. I turned on the mini split AC in the room and black flakes came out of it. I’d have checked out right then, but my husband was exhausted and he didn’t want to move hotels right then. We left the room to get dinner and it was about 6:30pm. Someone tried to sell us drugs within five minutes of walking. There were mostly bars and it was very loud everywhere. This is definitely a party area. We got back to the hotel and kids were in the courtyard area, which would have been fine because they weren’t overly loud, but we could still hear full conversations through the walls. Overall, I don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful beach getaway. We never even made it to ocean beach. We packed up the next morning and found some place else stay as quick as possible. Again, I appreciate that the staff member working allowed us to check out with a full refund of our remaining two days, but I felt I needed to leave a constructive review for other couples or families looking for something quiet and clean. Ocean Beach Hotel isn’t that place.

Was on the second floor. It’s insanely loud in the room I was staying in. You could hear people stomping up and down the stairs, loud talking etc. if you’re a light sleeper like me, don’t stay here. I barely got any sleep and the next day was super rough.

The rooms are NOTHING like the photos. Maybe they renovated one room for the pictures but we were on the top floor and you can see into all rooms which all look like my photos. Such a disappointing hotel. No elevator, everything is very dilapidated and old. Staff didn’t engage with anyone and it wasn’t a great experience.
