It was a lovely hotel walking distance to many things. My only complaint is that the rooms are very small.

While the property is cute, it lacks parking, and elevators so if you’re handicapped, DO NOT STAY HERE! We had to climb two flights of stairs with luggage. Don’t expect assistance with it either. It’s in the gas lamp district but it’s not clear where the front door is.There is a big lite sign at the top of a row of buildings on the corner but that’s not where the hotel is. If you’re at the sign at the corner, turn around and walk back. You’ll find it after passing 2 or 3 businesses. The bathrooms are well equipped but they are just slightly larger than a bathroom on a cruise ship. I've stayed in boutique hotels before but the rooms and bathrooms could fit a larger person. The parking is around the corner on 7th Ave and you have to scan a QR code at the front desk, then fill out a form to pay for your parking so you get another QR code to scan for entrance to the parking garage. When it’s late at night and you are two women alone, it can be a tad scary. I had called ahead to tell them that we would be checking in late because we were at a concert. Never once did they tell me that we probably would have to park a block away and walk. Once in the room, they gave me a single bed when I asked for two. On top of that, the TV did not work and they have no phones to call the front desk. Everything is done via text which is annoying and lacking in customer service. I sent a text stating all of this and crickets. No concession offered or even an apology from the manager.
False advertising! Claimed to have on site parking, so we chose the Beau over another hotel which had a pool, because we wanted a place for our rental car. We later found out parking was not on site and an off site garage with an additional fee (more than street parking). The bar and food they claimed to have, did not exist. It was still in construction and not ready for another month they said when I asked when we got there. No AC (which the website said they had). The bed was on a filing cabinet turned in its side. You could hear everyone in their rooms, the building is so old. No amenities in the room. A flipped, fake “instagram” hotel. It was terrible, and comes down to them claiming to have things on their website, which they did not have. They could have been honest about their space.
We booked a room with two queen beds. When we arrived we were shown to a room that only had one queen bed. We were told that a mistake had been made and there weren't any more rooms with two beds. They promised to switch us the next day.
Day two we arrived back at the hotel in the evening to find that they had switched us to a room with one king bed. Again I reminded them of our initial reservation. They said they again were not showing any rooms available with two beds, but the desk clerk did a visual inspection of a room and found that it was clean so we were finally moved.
The remainder of our stay was okay, however the room was lacking in amenities. No refrigerator, no ice maker, two beds and one very small side chair was the only furniture in the room. The bath room was very small and did not have any counter space.
The staff was friendly and the place was clean. We did appreciate the community coffee bar at the end of the hall on the second floor as well as the little sitting area of to the side.
The staff was incredibly friendly, and willing to help you carry your bags around.
There’s no elevator so those with golf bags should be ready to carry up to the 3rd floor if need be but like I said, the staff is willing to help you with that.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Beau, the hotel was warm and cozy. We were greeted immediately. The room was clean and inviting. This was a hit for us. It was less than half a mile in distance to Petco Park.
No parking on site. No elevator. No central AC. Shower is extremely tiny with very low water pressure, couldn’t even rinse my hair properly after washing. They didn’t dilute whatever cleaner they used on the floor, so the floor had a thick film and was slippery. This hotel has a lot of potential and could be something very beautiful, but I’m hoping they work out the kinks sooner than later.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Some feedback for improvement would just be to have more amenities in the hotel room, such as a hairdryer, iron ironing board, maybe a mini fridge as this is usually standard in most hotels. The shower racks did not feel secure on the wall. As the front door entrance was handicapped accessible, there was no elevator or any kind of way for someone in a wheelchair or to access the upstairs. Parking was limited to the city structure, which made it confusing and inconvenient to access the hotel, as we had to walk around the front of the building after, with no access directly from the parking structure.
Gorgeous historic hotel - a little too warm for us
This hotel is beautiful. It is in a great location. The employees are very kind and helpful. The only issue we had here was that there is no AC and then also no fan. We'd have been fine with no AC if there was a fan to move the air around, but we were miserable in our hot room. With the window open there still was no circulation, it was hot and very loud outside with the window open. If there was just a fan, I'd want to stay here again and again. We actually contemplated leaving and finding somewhere else to stay we were so hot/stuffy in our room. We were also sad the bar area was closed during our visit. If they add fans, then this place is beautiful and I'd love to come back!!
