The room was very cold and the heat was running from the time we got there around 12 noon and when we got back in the room around 9:45pm it was even colder… I had to call the front desk for a extra blanket and portable heater.. It was horrible

Every staff member here is friendly and helpful. They are efficient and are clearly professional at what they do. It is near union square so you can shop easily and take scenic pics. The rooms are clean and spacious. They give you promo coupons to eat at some restaurants near by. I would definitely stay here again and recommend staying here if you are looking for a safe place. They have valet around the back of the main entrance and also a daily parking garage you can lay across the street. We chose to park here it’s covered and was more to our personal standards. Do expect a line when checking out and picking up your car though :). They try their best to do it pronto to keep you satisfied; just something to keep in mind as other hotels may have similar experiences too.

We enjoyed our stay here the week before Christmas in a King premium balcony room. Comfy bed, hot shower, fluffy towels and plenty of space to spread out. My husband was able to work with an overall quiet environment despite the strike across the street. We enjoyed the heated pool and the private sauna - don’t miss that! Great location to walk to union square, up to Nob Hill, or hop on Powell St cable car. Plus great restaurants in the area. I wouldn’t say the staff was particularly friendly, but everyone was polite enough and helpful with our questions. We liked the history of the hotel, and supporting a family business vs a chain hotel.

One of the few hotels with parking located in the heart of union square. The hotel pool was well maintained free of debris and heated for winter swimming. The main downside this hotel is the age of the building. This hotel is old, musty, and poorly insulated. I couldn’t figure out the heater and an engineer used a pen to press the on button because it was so worn out. The bathroom was clean and functional with plenty of towels. My room had a mini fridge as well. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location couldn’t be beat, and was centrally located to all the main stores in union square. Keep in mind most of the hotels in this area will be old. The room was sufficient for one night. Personally, I’d pick a newer hotel for future visits.

Was a great place to stay for New Years Eve! Right next to all of the action on Union Square. Within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Definitely would revisit in the future!

Great stay for NYE!
Beautiful room, 369, premier double queen with balcony. Queen balcony rooms face the pool, king balcony rooms face the street. Our balcony was tucked in next to the green leaves of the tree. Lovely room. Quiet and clean. Heating system was loud, luckily room stayed warm, and we didn't need it.
