Too many excuses
I booked this home, after payment i was then alerted by owner that the accommodation isn't available due to renovations. He mentioned having another with no additional cost. I saw some pictures and decided to stay at the new place. However i inquire about the wash and dryer as it was one of the amenities and was assured that the apartment had these items. I arrived at Trinidad and noticed that the location still wasn't sent. I called all day and no response from owner. He finally rang after midnight with apologies but i already checked myself into a hotel for the night. Now no conversation was had about compensation for the day lost. He mentioned sending someone to pick me up from the hotel. The apartment still wasn't ready and they asked if it's ok to stay till 5pm in another until it was. Owner's mom really did asked if there was anything i needed to ask. The dryer wasn't in the apartment and i used a shared room dryer instead. During my stay a plumber came to fix pipes. Electrician came to fix gate and internet in the home. Among other inconveniences, i actually requested to call first as anther showed up by door. The owner said that he had more work to do on this apartment and if i can spend the last 5 days in another home "for no additional cost" for me that last line was a laugh but at this time i just felt hustled. This home wasn't ready and yet he mentioned it was. I booked another home and left as i felt price value wasn't met. Vrbo did offer to pay my hotel bill.
