Publié le 21 avr. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe recently had a family vacation to Oaxaca with excitement for rest and relaxation. We had very specific needs that seemed to have been fulfilled by the listing including number of beds, proximity to the ocean/beach, a kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. The pictures and descriptions of this apartment in a resort seemed to fit the bill but was not what expected when we arrived. The number of beds was not accurate, restaurants were not opened as described, and there was no shuttle service into town which forced us to get a car from the airport. The host did what he could do from afar to find us a different room but by the time they could find one (which was halfway through our stay) we were unpacked and frustrated with what was offered vs what was available. There was a consistent story told by the staff that a lot of amenities were not available because of COVID but this was not listed on our bookings page (and to the point at which this review was written, was still written in the listing).
Here are our Pros & Cons for the property:
Pros-
The rooms were new and mostly clean.
The beds were comfortable.
Daily cleaning service provided (although no ‘do not disturb’ signs a available).
The staff was very friendly. (Although it seemed like most of the staff themselves were unaware of what amenities were available or not available during COVID)
There was almost nobody on the beach; very private.
Cons-
Can’t swim in ocean - waves are too big, unless you’re an expert swimmer, the undertow is much too dangerous.
Only 2 restaurants- no Thai restaurant (as is listed)
No shuttle! (As listed) 25 minutes into town- by taxi
costing ~$50 USD round trip
VERY secluded- nothing within walking
distance, and 10+minutes down a deserted
dirt road to get to the main road
Kids club closed
Only 1 (or two, depending on who you ask) is child friendly; the third pool is adults only.
The listing isn’t what we got (single bed in second room vs. 2 doubles), - Be aware that what you think you’re booking is not necessarily what you will get.
Scratched Teflon pans
No cooking basics (oil, salt, etc.)
Food takes about 45-1+ hour at the restaurants at the resort (even when we were the only ones there).

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I’m glad to see you enjoyed the cleanliness of the resort, the comfort of the beds, daily housekeeping service, friendly staff, and a private beach. The team at Vivo works very hard to maintain a clean environment for all to enjoy. I’m very sorry to hear about the overall experience. The lack of communication and timeliness of service in the outlets is not what you would expect from our resort. Please accept my sincere apologies for this experience. We clearly have an opportunity to review what amenities are listed on our 3rd party sites to ensure 100% accuracy. I thank you for bringing this to our attention. I hope you will give us another opportunity to show you the experience you have come to expect from Vivo Resorts.
