We had a fantastic family break at Casali di Margello. The lovely host family spoke good English and really went the extra mile to make sure we would have an enjoyable stay.
We stayed here with our 5year old and 8month old children. So the fact that they were so accommodating was much appreciated. Our room was comfortable and cleaned every day.
The breakfast was amazing, it included homemade bakes and seasonal fruits from the farm amongst other delicious local produce. Most nights We stayed for dinner and sometimes also for lunch. The food was high standard and reasonably priced, the menu varied slightly every night but always included homemade pastas and their own reared black pork. The chef made some special dishes for our 5 year old as he is both lactose intolerant and a fussy eater.
This Agriturismo is situated high up in the mountains and built over lots of terraces so you can expect a beautiful view and plenty of stairs to climb. Only one of the pools was in working order during our stay, and it did look like that had probably been the case for some time. However we really enjoyed the other pool, and often had it all to our selves.
20min down the mountain is a nice small town called Capo di Orlando, that offers good shopping opportunities, ice cream bars, restaurants, a beach front promenade, and both pitch your own parasol and organised beach clubs. They had a month long blues festival on when we visited in July, with some happenings most evenings.
