Family home in the heart of Sancerre 2 mins from the French language school Reviews

We left, couldn’t stay there- the property was not habitable, had black mold on the bedroom walls. VRBO support team wasn’t helpful. Our son contacted the CEO who put us in touch with Executive Support, which got results. Very stressful experience.

The apartment is so convenient to the language school and offers extremely comfortable bedrooms with a French flair. We did not use either of the salons at all, but spent most of our time in the kitchen or in our bedrooms.. The bathroom had a great skylight and was very spacious. I also loved the fact that the owners offered bikes for our use. On the downside, the patio was always in the shade, so it was not inviting to sit outside. The house, too, felt very cold to me, even on a beautiful fall day. We were quite close to a nice park so could easily walk down there to be in the sunshine while doing our homework. Lastly, there was a stray cat who was absolutely starving and constantly clawing to get inside. We respected the owner's wishes and never let the cat indoors, but couldn't let her starve and it was impossible to ignore her. The property was definitely clean when we arrived, however there was no key in the lock box and we had to contact a nice neighbor to get access. The chairs were still on the kitchen table when we arrived, and the vacuum cleaner was out, and sheets were hanging on the door to dry. The cleaners graciously stopped by later to give us a key to the apartment and when my friend accidentally left a couple of belongings in the apartment, the owner arranged for the cleaner to rescue the items and return them to my friend. Very appreciative of the extra effort made by both the owner and the cleaners!

Every comfort of home was considered and great location within short walk to Coeur de France school for us Especially enjoyed patio outside as temperatures were extremely high for season. A lovely village and memory

The house is a lovely blend of modern and traditional. Everything we need was provided for and the property is in the heart of Sancerre just a stone’s throw from shops and restaurants but quiet and peaceful at the same time. Great value for money.

Right in the heart of Sancerre and within walking distance of all that Sancerre has to offer. John and Jennifer, the owners, have renovated this 18th century building with sympathy for many of the original features; including a well and the original staircase (not recommended for those with mobility difficulties) to create a wonderful home away from home. The locality offers plenty to do and see and Jennifer kindly provided many recommendations for activities and places to eat. We really couldn’t have enjoyed our holiday more, and thoroughly recommend staying here.

The property is beautiful, well furnished and was fully equipped for all our needs. We really loved our stay. We had loads of space in the house and in the lovely garden area where lots of sunbathing was done! The location of the property is fantastic. It's really close to the village centre and so only a short walk from a great bakery for breakfast, some lovely restaurants and great wine tasting locations. It also provides a great base for exploring the stunning Loire Valley. We can't recommend this property enough and will certainly be booking another stay!
