That’s a little cute hotel with a restaurant in the first floor. It’s good for a couple try to get away from a busy city.

Great place to stay!!
Publié le 21 août 2020 sur HotelsGreat small place to stay, its our second time staying here and will keep staying here. The people are very nice, quick checkin, and you receive a free pizza. The room is very comfy and spacious. We will be back soon!

If it was not for Cassie , this would have been a horrible stay . The owner is non existent even though he lives in the room next to ours. The room we had was comfortable , the bed was unique and the rain shower was nice but the bldg. is a complete mess. I know owning a business is difficult especially in Covid times ,but at least act like you care about your business and customers.

Hello Robert! I am glad the room, bed, shower and especially my staff was good to you. We granted your late request to change dates of your reservation and I waived your cancelation fee even though this means our small 2 bedroom B&B loses its potential income by half. I personally did this even though I did not personally check you in as a courtesy to you because of your stated troubles with Expedia.
If you check in on a Saturday or a Sunday, you will more than likely have Cassie check you in. We have a small staff of two. They allow me to have a weekend and not have to work every day all day. If you were to check in on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday you would have had me personally check you in. It would have been me prepping the food (from scratch I even make my own pepperoni and sausage, grind the meat and season, stuff into casings, cure and smoke), making the pizza, answering the phones, tending the till. I still hope you would find me as kind as Cassie (thats really hard to do she is awesome! Can I take credit for hiring her and keeping her on for the last decade we have been open?)
As to the building, it was built in 1945, is historic, and with our weather has all the maintenance to go along with this. That said over the past decade we have restored this property and the Ivy Bear topiary, at no small cost to us. Over four hundred thousand dollars was spent renovating to get us open to public. Last summer of 2019 we replaced the entire roof, new shingles, plywood. The old slats the old shingles were attached to were put in sometime in the 1950's. All new now. This summer it is gutters. We just installed brand new hardwood floors for all bedrooms and have yet to update our pictures online.
We are constantly doing our best to improve and be better. Your opinion will help us recalibrate to better engage our customers. Here's to a better stay.

Great experience. Our tiny mountain house couldn’t accommodate visiting adult grandchildren and our daughter-in-law so we rented two rooms at Ivy Bear. Not only were the rooms spotless, the owner gave out vouchers toward his delicious pizza. Everyone loved it. Thank you. We will be back.

Bad location (loud highway), but excellent pizza and a terrific bed (mattress)!

Scott, the proprietor, was the best. He took care of us, showed us around, and made delicious pizza for us. Our room was perfect. It was a great way to start our vacation.
