Great hotel
Publié le 11 oct. 2024 sur HotelsThe property is a beautiful historic building that is very up to date. Our king room was spacious, with a seating area, desk/table and great walk in shower. Excellent service from check in to departure. We had an excellent dinner and drinks in the Ortiz bar. The breakfast buffet wasn’t anything special. Enjoyed sitting by the pool. The location is a short walk to the plaza and lots of places to shop or dine.

So, in fairness, the hotel was less expensive than many of the other hotels in Santa Fe that weekend. It is fairly well-located and has a nice restaurant that comes in handy for a late night meal or glass of wine. However, the rooms are terribly dark--so much so that even with all the available lights on, you have to go into the bathroom to get dressed--let alone put on makeup or do your hair. The rooms are large. But the furniture is dark and heavy and because we were put on the first floor, we had to keep the drapes closed because cars were pulling into and out of parking spaces by my windows. The lobby is very blah. The front of the hotel has some seating but it looks as if it could use rejuvenation. Front desk staff were friendly but, overall, I am surprised that Hilton would keep this place--it is well below their usual standards.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Location is excellent with close access to restaurants and shopping.
The service at the hotel restaurant was a bit slower than expected. Maybe understaffed?

Property is historic yet well maintained. Coffee, water and chocolate chip cookies available in the lobby. Bottled water is free and plentiful. Helpful staff gave my husband free distilled water for his CPAP machine. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Would stay there again.
