You'll experience all that Santa Fe has to offer when you stay in our beautifully appointed piece of paradise, located a lovely eight-minute drive from the bustling Santa Fe Plaza. Our newly remodeled, utterly peaceful 900 s.f. one-bedroom retreat is filled with light and integrated with nature with large windows providing views of pinion pine, clouds and blue sky at every turn. Located in an exclusive gated community of luxury homes in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, it is tastefully furnished with lots of special touches to make your stay unforgettable: Our perfectly appointed and fully-equipped deluxe European kitchen features Miele appliances and a Nespresso machine; our dining area has views our comfortable queen bed is covered in luxury linens; our slate bathroom with large walk-in shower is filled with plenty of plush towels; and there's plenty of closet space plus a convenient washer/dryer.

After a busy day of roaming the town you'll appreciate the absolute silence and serene aura that envelops our little Casita. Grab a book from our extensive library to read and enjoy the view at the same time while perched on our comfy leather daybed. If you'd like to get even closer to nature you can explore the Dale Ball hiking trails, just a five-minute walk away. Or if you love to relax -- look no further. We're located just below the world famous Ten Thousand Waves Japanese spa --take a soak in one of their authentic outdoor tubs or book a massage in a private pavilion nestled among the pine. It's an experience not to be missed. We can also arrange for your own personal therapist right in the comfort of your private Zen retreat. If you're a skier, we're right on the road heading up to the Santa Fe Ski Basin, named one of the 12 top small ski resorts in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler. Ours is one of the closest homes you can get to the lifts, 12 miles door to door. We're also six short miles to the Santa Fe Opera.

Once you're in for the evening, crank up the barbie and enjoy a quiet dinner on our private outdoor deck. If you can pull yourself away from the awe-inspiring carpet of stars that fills the night sky. you'll appreciate our 52" flat screen TV and Sonos sound system to create your ambiance of choice.

Our family-friendly great room room sofa can double as twin daybeds at night, and we're happy to welcome a couple with two children or teens. Please note that the rate quoted is a base rate for two guests; there is an additional $25 per stay, per person charge for a third or fourth guest.

We do require the purchase of a one-time $59 fee to cover property damage (to protect us and you) from unexpected problems. This is purchased as part of the VRBO check out process.

Zen Retreat
This property is an excellent choice when visiting Santa Fe. The pictures tell the story. Large one bedroom casita - about 1000 feet. High end furnishings throughout. Fully stocked kitchen with induction stove, oven/boiler and microwave. Lots of natural light, with views of the surrounding property. Separate from the main house, it feels very private. Ten minutes to the Plaze, excellent hiking courses three minutes away. Amazing stars at night. And very quiet. Owner is very communicative. Highly recommended.

A get away from Dallas
The Casita was a very warm and welcoming place. From the, “Welcome to the Casita”, hand written note, to the deer walking past the property in the early morning. This place is a 10 out of 10. It was clean, well maintained, the instruction manual was clear on what to do in all situations. The grocery stores and the downtown area were about 5-10 minutes away. The nights were quiet, safe and the open screened windows let in a welcomed cool breeze. Michelle was the perfect host for this VRBO. When we first got to the Casita, she greeted us and show us around. I thought that was very sweet of her. We took advantage of the nearby hiking trails and sightseeing in downtown Santa Fe. We had a fantastic time and will return to Santa Fe in the near future.

Great getaway
The house was clean and comfortable, the property was secluded but a short drive from everything, and the host, Michelle, was on-site, lovely, and responsive. We've come to Santa Fe almost yearly since 1982, and Michelle's house beats a hotel any day. If you seek peace and quiet, this house is perfect for two.

Exceptional Experience
I've been staying in vacation rentals for about 20 years and this property exceeds any other. Scrupulously clean, beautifully maintained and anything you need for your stay is there. And, Michelle, the property owner, was gracious and generous. I'd forgotten my phone charger and she loaned me one. Little details such as that made for a lovely stay. My only regret is that my vacation wasn't longer!

Very special place
The casita exceeded our expectations. Michelle’s attention to every single detail, which fused a unique and refined design sensibility with comfort created the perfect home away from home. The property is beautiful, quiet, and secluded while being only 10 minutes away from the center of Santa Fe. Amazing natural sites are only an hour or two drive away. We had a wonderful week here and hope to return. Michelle was responsive, helpful, and classy in the best sense of that word. Highly recommend.

Michelle was a great communicator. This is a lovely casita, in the country but a short drive into town (and Ten Thousand Waves). Stylishly decorated with everything we needed for a week. There are trails straight from the door. We will be back.

This property sits in fabulous surroundings with lovely views. Michelle has decorated beautifully, has added many high end extra’s inside to make your stay wonderfully comfortable. Slice of Santa Fe Heaven
This is a beautiful property with such a serene setting. The casita is beautifully appointed and exceptionally comfortable for a couple. The setting is truly quite private even though it sits next to the main house. The owners have provided many thoughtful touches, including robes, slippers, yoga mat and fully stocked coffee bar, your choice of Nespresso or traditional coffee. We enjoyed the peaceful, natural setting, watching birds, squirrels and chipmunks. Just a couple of miles out of the Plaza up the mountain road above. Very close to excellent hiking trails as well as Santa Fe Ski. We enjoyed cooking our meals in the efficient high end kitchen, eating on the patio when sunny and eating indoors in front of an amazing large picture window during the rain. The kitchen had everything we needed, including spices, oil, foil. Lovely stay...just perfect for my annual Santa Fe birthday. We hope to come again for a longer stay in the future.

A lovely property with beautiful decor and great attention to detail. The casita was very private and very quiet. The bed was about the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in and showering in the skylit bathroom was a wonderful way to start the day. The casita was filled with fantastic artwork — I’d love to know the artists’ names. I highly recommend this property and we hope to stay again.

Fabulous casita in a Zen-like peaceful setting
Michelle has made this casita into a state-of-the art design marvel. Top-notch appliances, finishes, linens, towels, bath items. Landscaping around the casita is beautiful, peaceful, and you can see every star at night. Conveniently located a few miles up the hills from town. We will be back!

Truly a Retreat!
This place was beautiful and it was clear that someone had lived in the place as everything was very functional and comfortable including the giant soft couch in the living room, the long bench in the master bedroom for suitcases, spa robes in the closet, well-stocked kitchen, recycling receptacle, private outdoor sitting area, etc. Communication with the hosts was excellent and Michelle, her husband Alan, and the property manager Peter were all wonderful. The microwave mysteriously wasn't working and Alan was there that evening with a new one! We loved this place and probably will be back because of it!

This was our second stay at Casita de la Paz. Upon arriving,, it truly felt as if we were home. The casita has a beautiful modern and chic decor. It is in a very quiet and peaceful location surrounded by nature. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

A peaceful gem!
We felt so comfortable in these well-designed surroundings with peaceful views of the woodlands throughout. The furnishings and artwork are high-quality and aesthetically-pleasing and contacts with the owner and property manager were warm and generous. We could not have been happier with our choice for this 10-night stay and plan to return in the spring. As a bonus, great hiking trails system is nearby and the restaurant at 10,000 Waves --- about 10 minutes away --- was our favorite among many good options in Santa Fe.
