Oasis by the Santa Fe River - 4 Blocks to Historic Plaza; 1 Block to Canyon Road

Casa Tierra is a unique historic adobe in a superb location: 4 blocks from the Santa Fe Plaza and 1 block off art-studded Canyon Road. This 2 bedroom/2 bath casita is tucked back from the Santa Fe River; the 6 minute stroll to the center of town is along shady sidewalks and seasonally flowing water.

This authentic adobe is hand-mudded in the ancient ways of native peoples. It is this rare and lovely hand-applied earthen surface that lends the house its name, Casa Tierra - House from the Earth. Casa Tierra is one of only six all-adobe, all-mudded homes remaining today in Santa Fe.

Upon entering Casa Tierra, you are greeted by a great room with high viga-beam ceilings, herringbone brick floors, fireplace, and museum quality art and antiques. The living room opens onto a granite topped kitchen with five burner stove. Both bedrooms offer a king or two-twin-beds sleeping option (new beds!) and each has its own joyfully tiled Talavera bath. Handmade doors, furnishings, carvings and woodwork throughout offer a rustic Old World ambiance.
Casa Tierra opens out onto four private and inviting sitting areas beneath venerable Cedar and Cypress trees--perfect for communing with friends or simply relaxing and enjoying time alone. This is truly an Oasis by the Santa Fe River.

The house is pure Sante Fe. It has an extremely well equiped kitchen. The interior decor is perfectly Sante Fe. My wife walked the trail by the river every day and loved it. Only 1 bloock from Canyon Road.

This is a really cute place and easy walking distance to the square in Santa Fe. Three of us stayed for 4 nights. We really did not do much meal prep but the place is equipped to do it if you want. Beds are comfy and there are plenty of hangars in the closets. Check-in was really easy. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it

We spent four nights at Casa Tierra while attending the Santa Fe Opera. The unit is tastefully decorated, well-stocked, and brilliantly situated. We particularly loved the very private outdoor space where we savored our morning coffees. We liked the unit enough that we already have booked it for next year.

Wonderful Walkable Location

Easy and timely communication with our hosts. The location is perfect for exploring Canyon Road and the Plaza. Beautiful historic adobe. Well appointed and furnished, with easy parking. We come to Santa Fe once or twice a year (For the opera, and the Indian Market). Staying at Casa Tierra sets a great “Santa Fe” vibe.

Charming casita

Charming casita in a wonderful location steps from Canyon Road and an easy walk to the plaza. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Having parking for 2 cars was a big plus. NoĂ©l, the owner of the main house, was very congenial and helpful and even invited my sister and me to her home to see her art. It was a very safe and quiet area. I will definitely stay there again when I’m in Santa Fe.

Charming, comfortable place. Had everything we needed. Great location if you want a centrally located, walkable location- right off Canyon Road and easy walk along the river to main part of town. Hosts very responsive. Would definitely stay there again.Do be aware there is either a hefty damage deposit or the purchase of separate insurance required by this host.

Lovely abode and location

The locale was perfect--short walk to Square, lovely path across the road that followed the stream; bed was very comfortable.We had trouble with the door closing--had to slam it shut.The right side of the electric stove did not work correctly--both burners went on instead of just one. For people who like to cook, the counter space is small.
