No gulf cart, very dirty mattresses, mold

1. When we booked the house in February, the description was “golf cart included”. But once we arrived, they said it’s $700 a week. 2. The backyard was not prepared for renters, it was very dirty. 3. The mattresses were in terrible condition, especially in the master bedroom. It was impossible to sleep on. It had a lot of huge yellow and brown spots. 4. The room above the garage smelled damp and moldy. It was impossible to stay there during the day or overnight. 5. The garage was locked. 6. There is nothing in this house for the beach like chairs, sand toys, etc. 7. The pool is clothing at 7:15pm which is very early. 8. Walk to the beach takes about 20-25 min. I do not recommend renting this house for the family beach vacation especially with kids.

We take our customer feedback very seriously and were disappointed to read your review. It’s unfortunate that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. However, we must address several inaccuracies in your comments: 1.The Golf Cart Fee: This home has been on our program since January of 2021, in that time the description has never wavered, the golf cart has ALWAYS been an option for the additional fee. Which you were informed of when you first emailed a few days before your arrival complaining about. 2. Backyard not being prepared for renters: We always perform two thorough inspections of our rental property before a guest's arrival. The first inspection is conducted prior to the cleaning process, and the second inspection follows directly after cleaning is completed. These steps ensure that the property, including the patio, is in excellent condition. To further support this, we have documented evidence in the form of pictures from both inspections showing that the patio and home were in pristine condition before your arrival. 3. Mattresses: As part of our standard procedure, after your stay, one of our inspectors conducted a thorough examination of every mattress in the home. All the mattresses and toppers in the home are under two years old. We have not received any complaints about the mattresses being unsuitable for sleeping. Additionally, there have been no reports from previous guests about any stains, such as yellow or brown spots, prior to your stay. The homeowners are dedicated to continually updating and enhancing the property to ensure the utmost comfort for their guests. They are also more than willing to replace any bedding, or furniture if necessary. 4. Room Above Garage Smell: We have no report on file of you calling in to let us know there was an issue with the room above the garage, or of it being uninhabitable during your stay, where this could be addressed and handled for you during your stay. 5. Garage being Locked: The garage is not offered with home; therefore, it is locked to maintain the owner’s personal possessions. 6. No Beach Chairs, Sand Toys, etc.: We do not advertise that any items such as beach chairs, sand toys or anything of the nature is provided or available at the home. In your reservation confirmation email, you are provided with a list of items the home comes stocked with to get you started. 7. Pool Closing Time: The pool is a community pool; we do not determine the closing time. 8. Distance from the Beach: The distance from the beach is .5 mi exactly. Our team works tirelessly to provide exceptional service, and it's clear from numerous positive reviews that many customers recognize our efforts. We regret that your experience did not reflect our high standards. We encourage constructive criticism, but spreading misinformation helps no one. Perfect home for our family of 9. 4 couples and a baby

The home was beautiful and the neighborhood is beautiful, quiet and safe. Renting a golf cart made the short trek to the beach very nice. It was nice that every room had their own bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay and were sad it’s over.

Poor Experience at a Beach Rental

If you’re planning a beach vacation, you may want to think twice before renting from Sand Dollar One management company. We recently had a terrible experience with this particular company, and we’re here to warn you of the potential pitfalls. 

We paid a heavy cleaning fee, yet the home was in need of many repairs. The toilet seats were old and needed to be replaced, and there were multiple items from previous renters under the mattresses. The kitchen drawers had old food crumbs, and the coffee maker needed to be cleaned before we could use it, just to name a few. We also paid for a gas golf cart, but it was not provided until three days into our rental and they refuse to consider any reimbursement. 

The management company does not work on the weekends, so if you need anything, you’re out of luck. The rental was also very expensive compared to other rentals closer to the beach. The neighbors didn’t like the rental groups, and they complained of children playing outside, laughter unwelcome. 

It was clear that the management company didn’t care about our experience, but only about the money. Paying through Vrbo just ensures that you will not get a refund when it’s due to you. We have made this trip for thirty years, and this management company was by far the worst. 

We hate giving a bad review online, but this one was earned. If you’re planning a beach vacation, we urge you to stay away from Sand Dollar One management company.

Great baby’s first beach trip!

8 adults and one infant stayed 5 nights. Cooked all dinners and lunches at house. Publix close proximity. Grill was great, could use some long handle grill tools. Description could include driving guest might consider bringing additional dish soap/laundry pods/trash bags/TP/napkins etc. We inquired about keurig which was onsite. Asked about a crockpot which was provide along with hot pads. Management group was very responsive to our requests.

Dear Scott, We are so excited you and your family had an amazing time in the lovely home. The home is well equipped so that you do not have to dine out . That can be quite costly. I wish we had known about the grill brush. We would have been happy to bring some new ones over. We do supply initial amenities upon arrival but it is a good idea to bring some products if you are staying several days. We hope you plan to make a tradition in this home with the baby. Kriss Cottage

The property was amazing! Beautiful neighborhood and not too bad a walk to the beach. Having the golf cart was definitely a plus! My family filled the house and carriage house and enjoyed Blue Mountain immensely. All the restaurants were delicious and of course, a visit to the ice cream shoppe became a nightly event.

Wow, this house was truly amazing inside and out. It was perfect for my wife and me, our daughter, her husband, and their three beautiful daughters. We have zero complaints.

There was so much room, we could have shared it with more people. There was an issue with the Wi-Fi on the first day and the property manager was very quick to get it fixed. We would definitely stay here again.
