Great Bear Cabin!

Beautiful setting on Lake Colby
Publié le 11 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayWe generally were happy with our stay at bear cabin. The owner was very responsive to any and all items that came up. General cleanliness was a bit low in our opinion, but given the setting and beautiful lake view from the picture window we were able to overlook that. We did need to cut our visit short for personal reasons, but would rent at the location again. Proximity to the lake cannot be beat/ boats available to use and an abundance of fish to keep the kids and well myself busy even with sub par weather.
The local community was great offering advice on tackle and things to do. Seems like the town of saranac is going through some improvements, lots of construction making parking difficult, but the addition of a rail trail will make this an even better location to visit in the future.

MIXED EMOTIONS

Colby Cabins

We were having a great time, and then my wife tore here MCL on here knee ending are vacation.

Disappointing
Publié le 11 juin 2022 sur HomeAwayThe cabin was indeed right on the lake. However, the pics did not reflect what it really looked like. Overall, a bit shabby.The beds were uncomfortable, the blinds did not work, and although we paid a clean up fee we were asked to strip the beds, bag up linen and towels, and bag up all the trash. What is the clean up fee for?

This guest never communicated with us during the stay except upon departure. We take guest feedback seriously and respond right away if any issues are reported. New blinds are being installed.
The pictures for this cabin are very accurate and an accurate floor plan is provided with the photos.
Other guests have told us the beds are comfortable.
Since Covid we have asked guests to bag their linens to protect our housekeeping staff who certainly do much more than strip beds.
Our guests’ experience is of the highest importance to us. Prompt communication from our guests helps ensure our ability to address any concerns immediately.
