Blue Gum Estate sits on a 5 million dollar estate. This guest house suite views city lights, and a very serene setting-surrounded by mature oak trees.

You'll enjoy the peace and quiet of the country but yet only minutes from the City of Saratoga and the town of Los Gatos. A real joy to stay and an experience you don't want to miss!

The suite has a very large bedroom with a comfortable queen and double size bed in it. The bedroom overlooks the city lights.

Our pricing remains the same even during peak season. As you will notice it's the lowest price unit in the area and our guest says that it's a great bang for your buck. Owner does not want prices raised because she wants everyone to able to afford to come to the expensive silicon valley. We have a long list of repeat guests so come and check it out for yourself, you'll be glad you did!!

***** COVID CLEANING PROCEDURE *****
You will be staying in a guest unit that is a separate house on the property approximately 40 feet from the main house. You will be parking in front of the guest unit (in front of the separate 2 garages) approximately 30 feet from where we park. So you will be socially distant from everyone here. The guest unit is cleaned using commercial government approved COVID disinfecting solutions.
Following cleaning, a Germicidal Lamp UV is left turned on inside the unit for 3 hours. This lamp sanitizes and removes any COVID on the premises in 15 minutes. It is not safe for children to look into this light, so it will be used prior to your arrival and removed before any guest enters the premises. The guest unit door will then be closed and no one will enter the unit until you arrive. If the UV light is removed just before you arrive, you may be able to smell the ozone created by the lamp. If you do, please just open the door or windows for a few minutes to get rid of the smell. Any smell only confirms that the premises are UV cleaned.

Nice getaway
I was attending a wedding in Saratoga Springs and it was the perfect location. The host was very responsive and the setting was wonderful. It was a beautiful location in the mountains. The only negative was there was a line of ants on the property near one of the beds that we had to avoid. They were not a major issue though.

We were sent a rental agreement for half the price posted and charged. Sofa broke our backs. Steep area for dog difficult to access. People were walking past our area for no reason. Not really well equipped kitchen. The stairs were 10 inches steep! Nice neighborhood but the promised street parking was taken by abandoned vehicles. Too pricey for the place.

We love Blue Gum!
This was our second stay and we have booked our third stay. We and our dogs love the place! Feels like home away from home. The people on site (owner and others) are such lovely and fun people. That said, we have all the privacy we want, both inside and outside. Coffee on the patio is wonderful; quiet and lots of wildlife flitting about. Fits us perfect. Finally, we have extended our stay more than once and making those changes are so easy with Humphrey! Thank you.

Very enjoyable and comfortable in a beautiful setting
This residence is a beautiful apartment above a garage setting on the grounds of a much bigger home in Saratoga. Very peaceful and scenic from apartment windows. Owners of home were very inviting but not at all disturbing. Bit of a sugar ant issue in kitchen but such is the area and took care of it. Really enjoyed this home away from home. Thank you very much

Undesirable property
Right off the bat the manager told us that the property gets overrun by ants. We were told that they have an infestation every year for three months out of the year, which we were within. We were required to follow a procedure regarding how we dealt with food. We were unable to even leave dog food down for our two little dogs. We found out by being inundated with ants all over the dogs food and water. Consequently we could not leave our dogs for a period of time with food and water because of the ants. So we had to always take our dogs with us. The owner of the property threatened us with calling the police on us if we complained to the manager, so we could not even express our frustration with the situation. The property was not what they reported it to be. We were highly disappointed and left 5 days early. He would not refund us any money. He is a liar and a thief!

The property was well described; there were no surprises. We appreciated the dog friendliness, the private setting and, the privacy afforded us. Our interactions with property manager and briefly with owners was lovely. We have booked to go back.

Long Weekend Visit
We just needed a place to sleep while visiting family nearby. This place fit the bill fine. The location and price were the two biggest reasons we chose to stay here. It was clean and very quiet, quite comfortable. The weekend we were there was chilly and it got a little cold inside overnight, but we were able to warm it up using the gas fireplace. We had a little trouble getting the tv to work - it took some time to get the satellite to come on and it went off randomly, but since we didn't spend much time there, it was only a minor inconvenience.

Cozy spot in a great location with lovely owners onsite! Lost power for 28 hours in a rain/wind storm right after checking in -thankfully gas fireplace provided some heat. Apartment could use some updating including more lighting in sitting area and a serious deep clean.

Best experience with VRBO. This one will be hard to top!
My sister and I stayed here as traveling nurses for two months. We were beyond pleased with our time here! The house had everything listed, was SUPER clean and had plenty of cookware, utensils, etc, towels and blankets. We also loved that there was free laundry and free parking for both of our cars. The best thing about it all were the amazing hosts, Karen and Cyrus! They really made this feel like a home away from home. They were helpful if we needed anything and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We couldn’t recommend this place enough and we feel so lucky to have found it! We almost extended our stay just to spend more time at this outstanding home! The towns (Saratoga and Los Gatos) are within 3 miles in each direction and so much fun for all times of the day and great options for dining and activities. There are also many wonderful trails surrounding the area that we loved to explore on our days off. If you are looking to stay in the area don’t look any further! This is where you want to be. P.s. The fireplace inside was our favorite bonus for the cooler days. We can’t wait to come back!

Great place... Great location!
Nice place in Saratoga near Monte Soreno, giving it easy access to the town area of Los Gatos and Saratoga. We took multiple hikes in the Santa Cruz Mountains and the location was great for accessing the Bay Area and the Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay area.
