Inside The Property Very Dated
Publié le 6 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe paid for 7 night stay at Bernard's but choose not to stay. Initially walked in and the main floor bedroom smelled of urine. As noted in other reviews the pictures inside were outdated. The bedding in 3 rooms looked like your Grandma's basement bedding. As mentioned in the listing it was seaside and you could hear the ocean waves. Neither were correct or accurate. Hired an uber and stayed at a beautiful modern resort Mar playa Hermosa for the same money we paid not to stay at Bernard's.

Randy’s negative review of my villa is a gross inaccuracy to say the least. Readers of this review are invited to please look through the 10 year history of reviews (MOSTLY FIVE STARS) we have had. These reviews are an important component of helping us to repeatedly earn Premier Status.
Our communications with Randy was sparse. He initially wanted to be picked up in Tamarindo; not the Liberia's Airport as we advertised. I agreed to arrange for a pickup in Tamarindo if he wanted. There is no airport in Tamarindo. The next next communication from Randy was to inform me that he and two friends were in my home but not staying. No reason given. Security informed me that Randy and friends had stayed for a couple of hours and departed with the house keys. The last I heard from Randy until this unfortunate and harmful review by him.

Guanacaste at it’s best.
Publié le 26 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayPlace is as advertised. About a football field’s distance from a quiet beach (Playa Ocotal) with wonderful, warm water and lovely views. Villa is as described. All amenities necessary were provided, including plenty of towels, beach chairs, and plenty of kitchenware to cook just about anything. The pool at the villa was quiet and the other individuals that were onsite were lovely people, so there was no reason to leave the gates to go to the other pools. We did not venture to the club because we had full schedules already planned. Truly, you could knit pick any place you stay, and find something not to your standards. But in my opinion, if you have an issue with this place it is either a one off, unfortunate circumstance, or its the renter Bernard was communicative and pleasant from start to finish, as was Vanessa. We did not require their services, but they made themselves known as available. It was an amazing week, and would absolutely stay at Bernard’s villa again. Coco was about seven minutes away and had plenty of restaurants. Several grocery stores. Locals are absolutely lovely

Amazing vacation
Publié le 17 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayIf you really want to enjoy the culture and locals of the island this is the place. We enjoyed the comfort and accommodations. it was home away from home. We were three couples that had our own bedrooms and baths. A car rental is a must. The gated community is very safe and close to nearby restaurants and activities.

Perfect week in a perfect location!

The space was comfortable and attractive and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Just steps from the beach and a good 5k walking route in the Ocotal hills. These were wonderful guests. I apologized to them for the area wide power outage just before they arrived. This prevented our cleaning crew from completing their tasks prior to guests arrival.

Family vacation

Beautiful location

Father Rooster was steps away and the food was delicious and the atmosphere especially nice when they had the band and ceviche bar. Having access to the beach clubs was a huge plus and gave us variety in our pool/beach days. We appreciated the options quite a bit. Although we had some hiccups with driver pick ups, Vanessa was very responsive and offered to cover a cab to get us to the airbnb at no cost to us. We did find the photos to be a little out of date (linens aren’t white as pictured) and some new furniture that while functional doesn’t really fit the space that well. However these were minor things. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will probably visit Playa Ocotal again! Some honourable mentions for the cook at home chef option given to us by Vanessa. And we hired a boat captain through a travel agency called “my tan feet” named “Marcy” who was amazing. Saw whales, jumping devil rays, turtles, puffer fish , cool caves and more! All in all a great trip!
