A magical month to celebrate our 50th anniversary
Posted Oct. 12, 2022 on HomeAwayWe were equally impressed by the physical attributes of the property as the VRBO’s picture’s portrayed.. Annie was a knowledgeable host who gave us suggestions of what to visit, what restaurants to frequent and where to shop. The property was well cared for and lived up to our expectations.
The rural setting provided us with a peaceful haven but close enough to easily make day trips to impressive sites - Sarlat, Lascaux, Bergerac to explore life today as well as the archeological history of the area.

Perfect stay
Posted Sep. 2, 2022 on HomeAwayExactly what was needed for a relaxing holiday. The property is located 5 minutes away from the lovely town of Sarlat la Caneda.
On arrival we were met by Christine who showed us around the beautiful property. She didn't speak English and our French was very basic but that did not prove an issue at all.
The property has everything you need with the added intrigue of having a Templar history (try and find the secret passage. We couldn't but we did find the sun dial and Templar tattoo). Being attached to the bedrock of the church, the temperature was perfect even in the 40C heat. Both bedrooms have air conditioning too.
Annie the host was perfect. Lots of advice of where to go, where to eat (all the best boulangeries) and gave us the full history of the house. No question was unanswered and you know she loves the area.
The location was perfect, caves, chateaux, the Dordogne all within 30 minutes. (We didn't meet the resident owl but were definitely aware it was present :)
I have no hesitation in recommending this property

Relaxed stay in a beautiful and unique accommodation

A beautifully renovated property with much history attached. A comfortable stay in the property and an ideal base for exploring the Dordogne.

Exquisite medieval house

Maison de rêve avec du caractère
Posted Sep. 23, 2024 on HomeAwayNous (parents et fils adulte) avons passé une semaine de vacances de rêve à Canéda par un temps magnifique de fin d'été. La maison a un rayonnement incroyable et de nombreux coins enchanteurs. La situation absolument calme a été pour nous un facteur de détente important. Les sites touristiques de la Dordogne sont facilement accessibles en voiture - et une voiture est en tout cas conseillée en raison de la situation isolée. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le jardin aménagé avec goût et ses nombreuses herbes aromatiques. Merci beaucoup pour les nombreux conseils : Il ne faut surtout pas manquer la visite du « village d'artistes » de Gorodka, situé à proximité immédiate.

Etwas Besonderes
Posted Sep. 14, 2024 on HomeAwayDer Aufenthalt in dem liebevoll und sorgfältig restaurierten und modernisierten Presbyterium der Tempelritter war wirklich etwas Besonderes. Die Ausstattung bis hin zu den Betten ist hochwertig und fördert den erholsamen Urlaub. Die Miete der Bettwäsche und die Handtücher ist nicht inklusive und war dem Inserat so nicht zu entnehmen, aber die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und extrem schnell, so dass sich alles sehr stressfrei gestaltet. Auch die Hintergrundinformationen sowie die Reisetipps haben wir sehr gerne angenommen. Vielen Dank dafür. Schön, dass sich Annie als Besitzerin und als Vermieterin so engagiert zeigt.

8/10 besonderes Haus, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe
Posted Aug. 18, 2024 on HomeAwayDas Haus ist außergewöhnlich und hat uns sehr gefallen. Etwas gestört hat ab und zu der Campingplatz in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit (Kontakt nur per Telefon).

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour, paisible, avec nos deux enfants.
Bel accueil de la part de la propriétaire très avenante et de bon conseil pour visiter la région.
