Great location, clean property BUT….

Checking was a bit bumpy since our email did not have the correct code. When reaching out to the property owner they were quick and provided the correct code.
Here is the BUT….. This is a basement unit!
Not sure who is lives upstairs but they would come home 1:30 am or 2 am every night and walk back and forth from one end to the next, talk on the phone loud enough so that we can hear them this lasted for an hour. The second BUT they would wake up around 6:30 am shower and get ready so that means we were awaken again.
Overall the unit is very clean and great location but the lack of sleep sux!!!

I booked here based on such high reviews. Unfortunately what i found wasnt close to those levels. I noticed that the most recent review was over a year ago. The property has become worn out in areas such as the carpwt in the bedroom was worn, dirty and stained. The kitchen was decent however some items were broken and in poor condition. Unfortunately the worst part for me was that the upstairs was also a rental. There was a crew of construction workers upstairs that were load. The noise feom walking was so loud that they woke me up around 6 am each day. I hadnt been aware that upstairs was another rental, if i had i likely wouldnt have booked this location. For the price i suppose its okay but for me unfortunately it didnt work out very well.

So we agreed that we would cancel and find alternate accommodation. He told us to call VRBO to get our money back and when VRBO called him, he would only agree to 50% refund
He acted very agreeable in person but as soon as we left, he would not respond to our text messages - we never saw the suite...is there one? I have no idea, is it just a scam? Maybe

1. You did not disclose having an animal beforehand, which is required by our policies and VRBO guidelines. This was not a service animal as claimed, but an undisclosed pet.This dishonesty makes it difficult for guests that truly have a service animal.
2. We provided early access and personally assisted when you had trouble with the code.
3. Despite your claim, we responded to all communications through VRBO's official channels.
4. Our property is legitimate with a history of 5-star reviews on VRBO.
5. Regarding the refund, we actually went against our standard policy to offer you a 50% refund, aiming to be accommodating despite the circumstances.
We regret that this situation arose due to the lack of transparency about the pet. We encourage all future guests to read our policies carefully and communicate openly about any special requirements.

Compact but servicable
Publié le 23 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe entrance was easy, living space small but comfortable. Kitchen was fine, new fridge & microwave. Very clean. However, I found the pans were lackong. The large frying pan, completely overused & warped. The smaller pan was stained & rusty. Not set up to actually use the kitchen for cooking a real meal. The extent of ours was bacon & eggs & even that was a challenge. The location ia great though, lots of shopping or eating options within a 5 min walk, great for those who don't cook.

Publié le 10 févr. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe place was impeccably clean and well maintained. The area looked safe, and it was quiet. Close to shopping and restaurants. We left the paper with the door code in the room and forgot what it was, but were able to contact the property manager and he promptly provided us with the code so we could get in. Very pleasant to deal with. If I need a place to stay in Saskatoon in the future, this will definitely be high on the list of options.

Sweet and cute little hideaway
