Breath Taking Views - Rare opportunity!
Publié le 4 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayOur week long visit during ‘Indian Summer’ was amazing! We were in town for a wedding that took place at a local venue. We had enough room and endless views for a few dinner parties for out of town guests and meeting the other side of the family. The owner was even gracious enough to allow a mini photo shoot of the bridal party. Breathtaking views from nearly every angle of this stunning home. The sunsets were surreal! The home is an absolute masterpiece in its design, layout and finishes.Massive wrap around decks and shaded areas with gorgeous, comfy teak furnishings. Absolutely one of the best luxury homes my husband and I ever rented! We felt quite honored to be able to experience this extremely rare setting. The house is surrounded by 7 acres of gorgeous golden dune grasses. That alone was part of the magic. The seclusion out on a dune like this is something almost impossible to find elsewhere.
The home was extremely well equipped for entertaining. Graciously supplied with just about everything you could imagine. Carmen the chef was superb and fit right in with our family and lifestyle. Chuck the boat captain was very down to earth, a true Midwesterner who made everyone feel welcomed. The owner could not have been anymore attentive and accommodating. We are already looking forward to our next visit! We also LOVED downtown Saugatuck! The charm and history were such a lovely surprise.

Please return. You were amazing guests. I’m so sorry about the house flies. Never seen anything like the amount dead in the house of even close. It’s a great place to be year round. Winters and hiking and ski trails are beautiful as are the sunsets all year. Thanks for all the leftover goodies. 🤗💕and great review

June 24 Retreat
Publié le 29 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayEverything was wonderful with this stay except for the Wifi. It may have been because there were 12 of us but it was very weak at the guesthouse but better at the main house.
I was surprised at the big gaps between the stairs inside so we had to put gates up so our little dog wouldn't fall through. The steps are very steep leading to the beach so I didn't use them although others in my party did.
The host was responsive with my questions. The house is massive and a great place to host a family reunion or a group of friends.

I'm sorry that you didn't call or reach out or read the guest book that the guest house has its own wifi. I'm pretty sure that your guests were trying to get on the WiFi in the guest house using the main house WiFi as I've had absolutely no complaints on the guest house WiFi before hand.
There are only about 6 steps from the house to the beach path and they are what I would consider normal rise but as you may know you can go from the front of the house or from the guest house and avoid all stairs to the beach by walking around on the flagstone paths on either side.
We hope you will return again and please, please reach out if there are any issues...most like the guest house wifi are easy to resolve. Andrea

The best property on the Michigan coast

To have a main and guest house works great for larger parties. Access to a chef was a treat you don't get at most properties and the beach at sunset was spectacular! Everything was easy and first class!! Thank you Andrea and Carmen!!

One of our favorite trips
Publié le 13 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe only downside of our trip was not being able to stay longer! The property was incredible with one of the most beautiful views we’ve ever seen. The amenities could not have been better—from the heated pool, to the hot tub, to the beach…there was a place for everyone to enjoy with a large group. You cannot beat the expansive private beach and gorgeous sunsets. I immediately looked up potential dates for returning next year after our trip ended. It was truly special and I hope to be back here one day!

Simply Amazing!

The kitchen is wonderful and stocked with anything you would need for your stay, however, I would recommend that you have Chef Carmen prepare meals for you when you visit. She is exceptionally talented and super nice too!
The swimming pool, hot tub, private beach with fire pit, pool table, ping pong table, and house all provide ample entertainment for your stay. If you would rather take in the view of the Kalamazoo River and Lake Michigan, try any window or seat in the house, grab a glass of wine and prepare to be amazed. Plenty of covered porches for some shade as you enjoy the panoramic views and feel the cool Michigan breeze.
I have booked many VRBO’s and Andrea was the most responsive host I have communicated with.
Finally, take some time to enjoy a ride on the yacht with Captain Chuck. The yacht is perfect and Chuck kept us in good company and was a fountain of knowledge about the area as we floated by.
I hope we make it back again to see Saugatuck…Petrichor was so perfect we didn’t want to leave! If you do love to explore and can get yourself to leave the property, the surrounding towns are quaint and beautiful with plenty of activity and the nearby state parks provide hiking trails for outdoor fun.
One criticism is…nope, can’t come up with one. Make the memories! Book the Petrichor!

Thank you so much for staying with us. I strive very hard to offer the best vacation and space that I can. You are welcome to book again anytime. Winter with the 1000 acre state park with trails for cross country skiing and hiking is also amazing. Time to enjoy the fireplaces and a great book.
