Great staff, Great room, Great location
Publié le 18 mars 2020 sur HotelsThe staff were friendly and as helpful as possible, they quickly gave me a key to a room even though I arrived before the official check-in time and they were quickly to replace it when the door to the first room wouldn't open, they also cleaned up the replacement room as soon as I arrived. The room was comfortable, clean, and had a good selection of various foods for room service or there were plenty of restaurants with delicious food nearby. I highly recommend to anyone who's visiting Savannakhet, whether it's for a quick visa run or for a general trip to Laos.

Perfect for visa runs.
Publié le 3 nov. 2019 sur HotelsAvalon 2 is just around the corner from the original Avalon. Same great staff, clean rooms, nice bed, everything is working, very fair price. Nothing to put a finger on really. The pool here is an added bonus.
The location in walking distance from the bus station (5 mins) and the Thai Consulate (10-15 mins) makes it perfect for visa runs.
If you want to explore the city (nothing much to explore really) it's a bit on the outskirts, probably 25 mins to centre.
I always aim for Avalon whenever I'm in Savannakhet. It's by far the best in the area. Happy to see that there's now one more in case the first is fully booked.

Good points: 20 minute walking from Thai Embassy, recently new building, wifi ok.
Bad points:
* price does not include breakfast but when we first inquired they said it does include breakfast.
* staff more interested in playing on telephone
* extremely noisy right through the night with drunks going to their room, dogs continuly barking, wanted to charge me for food which I never brought, rooms are extremely small, no elevator so someone wiith disability’s have to walk up steps. Breakfast after we had to buy was small really only the size a child would eat.
Would we stay there again, never.
