Beautiful home and property!
Publié le 31 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful stay and would love to visit again! The house had all of the amenities plus a breathtaking view of the mountains. We enjoyed the peace and quiet while drinking coffee and watching the wildlife from the beach. Seals, sea lions, and porpoises swam by daily! We highly recommend this house!

Serenity in Seabeck

We saw harbor seals and porpoises, bald eagles, blue herons, fish jumping, and various birds during our stay. The house was charming with some definite quirks as others have stated in their reviews. The slanted floor in the kitchen and bathroom took some time to get used to. The kitchen cabinets could use a little finessing. Some don't close and drawers are rough to open and close. The main issue for us was the mattress in the master bedroom. It has a very worn valley, which would probably be fine for a night or two, but a full week left us with sore necks and backs. The vertical blinds were frustrating to use. We ended up just leaving them open during our stay. Replacing them with curtains would be easier for guests to operate. Adding a shower to the other bathroom would be a nice addition since the only shower is very small. We appreciated the carport and fireplace during our stay.

Hi Lori. We really appreciate your feedback and are very sorry that the bed was uncomfortable. We did some investigating and discovered that there were a couple broken boards in the box spring and no horizontal supports/slats on the bed frame. We have since fixed both of those issues and that appears to have resolved the valley in the mattress.
We are also looking to replace the vertical blinds with regular curtains.
Let us know if you would like to stay again sometime and we can potentially work out a discount to make up for the bed issues.

Oysters on the beach!
Publié le 8 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a truly wonderful experience at this home in Seabeck. I felt like I was staying at a beloved family vacation home. A bonus here is that there are only two steps to enter, and a bedroom and bath as well as living/kitchen are all on one floor. (another bedroom is downstairs) The back yard and beach are also accessible without stairs. The view is amazing--and oysters are available right on the beach. We were there in a month with no "R" so did not feel like we wanted to eat them while we were there, but will definitely go back! Very well equipped and a fun place overall.

Perfect Seaside Cottage

Fantastic view ; quiet and peaceful . We saw many seals and deer - right from the deck . I highly recommend this rental .

Repeat Rental
Publié le 3 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is the second time we have rented this older beach house located right on Hood Canal with a grand view of the Olympics. Across the water you can see The Brothers and very few signs of habitation.
The house is decorated with a nautical motief inside, and was furnished very tastefully. The bed were very comfortable. The house had lots of blankets, towels, and cleaning supplies. The kitchen was equipped with a good selection of condiments and excellent cooking equipment, although we didn't use the kitchen very much on this trip. Instead, we enjoyed eating at the Silver City brewery in Silverdale.
This is a good location for observing the eagles in May and June at Big Beef Creek which is only a 5-10 min drive away.
We had some trouble with one of the toilets, but the owner responded quickly and said he would have the problem fixed. Also, one of the best access roads (Newberry Hill Rd) from Silverdale is closed for the summer of 2024. Consider using Anderson Hill Rd instead if coming from Bainbridge/Seattle.

Wonderful getaway

The view of the mountains was magnificent, deer grazing in the yard, osprey and eagle flying by... great place to get away from things but still close enough to many other places to eat, shop, visit. Yes, it's an older beach house but was absolute perfection!
