Excellent Stay

Publié le 30 sept. 2024 sur HomeAway
This property is nestled in a secluded valley just outside of Sedan. It’s a quaint little “cabin” with all amenities for comfort. Nice size deck overhangs the canopy and overlooks the stream below. I highly recommend. The only issue I could see is the stairs to the upstairs bedroom. If stairs are not a problem, then this place is for you!!!

Outdoor experience

Publié le 3 juin 2024 sur HomeAway
We both love the outdoors. This was an amazing little get away from the city. All tucked away in the trees, and on the river. Just a few minutes from Butcher Falls which is an added bonus, so beautiful. Anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This place is a must. Happy Trails.

Just the two of us

Publié le 4 avr. 2024 sur HomeAway
Perfectly peaceful place to just get away for a couple of days! House was perfectly cozy for the 2 of us. Mary was so easy to work with! Her store in town is adorable and coffee was delicious! The town of Sedan was perfectly quaint but we were able to figure out everything we needed. Went nature exploring and were able to see the properties waterfall and even some buffalo! The distillery tour in town was interesting as well. Would definitely gladly stay again if back in the area! Thank you! 😃

Bugs and No Communication

Publié le 11 févr. 2024 sur HomeAway
Good thing we found a broom. There was a massive amount of beetles in the house that we continually had to sweep into piles. They were harmless but annoying. We even brought several home with us in our bags. Before booking for a hunting trip I had asked if I left early could I get a refund. I was told via message that as long as I stayed 3 nights I would be refunded the remaining if I left early. After staying 4 nights and then heading out the property manger would never respond to my requests for a refund on the last night.

Wonderful cabin to go off grid

Publié le 28 déc. 2023 sur HomeAway
Really enjoyed my time at this cabin. Cell connection is spotty or nonexistent which I liked. The wall heater kept you plenty warm during the day and the many blankets kept you warm at night. For Kansas the scenery was perfect. The only complaint I have is “hot tub” was mentioned on favorite amenities, and I did not see one at the property.

Cute Cabin with all the Essentials

Publié le 15 août 2022 sur HomeAway
We rented this cute cabin as a dark place to enjoy the Perseid Meteor Shower in mid-August. The night sky was beautiful and it was easy viewing from the big deck. Check in with Mary was very easy. The cabin was well appointed; every need was anticipated and the two air conditioners kept things cool. The master bed was very comfortable. There is low cell phone service here, so DEFINITELY download some entertainment before you come. We had anticipated that this rural cabin would be in a remote cow pasture away from the road, but it’s right off a quiet road maybe 25 yards, and next to a low flow river/creek (low flow in August…much more in Spring) where you can hear the animals drinking at night. We were able to use the cabin as home base as we visited the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, the Dalton Gang/Coffeyville History Museum, and Pawhusksa OK (where Ree Drummond’s Food Network’s Pioneer Woman is based). Very fun! Check their schedule to see when the Lodge (where they film the Food Network show) will be open.
