Publié le 1 sept. 2024 sur HotelsPerfectly situated in the town centre, this hotel is right next door to the abbey and it's always a delight to stay here. Clean, friendly and comfortable, the rooms are ideal and reflect all the same qualities you will find downstairs. Several areas to sit and enjoy good prices and lots of choices from the bar, there is also an adjoining area for watching sports on large screens and at least one pool table. This area is, in case you may be put off, neither rowdy nor in any way disturbs the main pub and restaurant. Lovely food at fair prices is available and outside the front of the building is a nice cordoned area to sit and enjoy a drink with a wonderful view of the abbey. Through the bar there is a secluded outdoor decking area which is very spacious and private. We highly recommend this accommodation and will return time and again

We would stay again but in a different part of the hotel. The room we had was right on the stairs and directly above the pub so was quite noisy especially when I had a small child with me. Next time I ask for a room higher up or further along the corridor.
Staff were very friendly and I would recommend it to anyone.

The George Inn was a lovely place to stay, very central to the amenities. The only issue I found was that the weather was so hot, the room was extremely stuffy, I didn't manage to get a great deal of sleep on the 1st night. Apart from that, I would recommend it.
