Awesome Property and Location, perfect for exploring southern Iceland and light viewing!
Publié le 9 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayAwesome, great location in a 'neighborhood' not too desolate, but sparse enough for excellent viewing right on property on walkable in the neighborhood in all directions. Excellent property itself, and really close to Selfoss for food, drinks, etc.
Excellent experience and hope to be back!

Great spot for getting to all destinations on the golden circle
Publié le 29 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property is huge and can sleep a huge group comfortably. We had 11 people and there were more than enough accommodations. The house had an issue with the hot water during our stay but the owners worked on getting it fixed and gave us a partial refund because of it. A little hard to find at first and I suggest dropping a pin on your map after you find it.

Wonderful stay at Grund
Publié le 15 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayGrund is truly a gem. It's a beautiful and very comfortable house in a quiet and sparse "neighborhood". It was such a treat to watch the sun set over the Icelandic landscape from the sauna and watch the aurora right from the house (it's a fairly good viewing point with lots of open sky, dark enough though you could drive another 45 min away to be in a totally dark zone). Thorsteinn is a very responsive host and we were in touch during the whole stay. I will be recommending Grund to my friends who visit the island.

Perfect for our Group

We were able to spread out, we all had our own bedrooms, the kitchen was well stocked & large enough for all our cooks! We used the sauna, hot tub, and the steam room. No jets in the hot tub, but it was wonderfully warm. The hot water, as with many listings in Iceland, was a struggle at times, but the owner was very responsive & trying to manage the new hot tub heating. The views were gorgeous & the deck was wonderful. We would all highly recommend staying here.
