BAD EXPERIENCE

I had a very bad trip because of lack of communication and coordination between this hotel and Hotel.com I did my reservation and was fully charged and when I arrived at the hotel very tired, surprised!!!! They told me that there’s no room available and no booking confirmation.....HOW COME... I was already charged. I spent the night looking for another hotel in Gambia without any contact in this country. Very bad experience. I’ve got the money refund with high tax on it...(very good business by the way, accept false reservation and take over 10% fees).

Boutique Hotel Gone Bad

Wavecrest was a bad experience for me, I was there during the low tourist season and only another one guest was booked in. The swimming pool was half filled with dirty water and therefore not usable. The restaurant was closed and the only meal available was breakfast. Breakfast was equally bad with only room service as the option and only served eggs, bacon, bread and coffee. I opted to skip the last two breakfasts. The hotel staff are good but it feels like the original hotel described and whose photos appear on Expedia are of the older hotel when it was well maintained now it is just a hotel ran down. I wouldn't go back there.

Eliman og hans stab gjør alt for at gjestene skal ha det så bra som mulig.Man får en hjemmefølelse etter dag 1.Vi var så heldig å få 1 roms med stor terrasse i front av hotellet.Utsikt over nabolaget og bare det var en fryd.Engelsk skole rett over gata så hver dag kom det hundrevis av barn etter veien i sine flotte skoleuniformer.Gambiske kvinner gikk forbi med sine vakre kreasjoner og kurver på hodet og geitene sprang stadig vekk forbi.Leiligheten var stor og dusjen var god.. endel småting som bare blir litt morsomt De glemte å legge to nye hånklær istedenfor 1,når de hadde vasket hadde de glemt å sette nytt toalettpapir,strømmen gikk 2-3 ganger om dagen...men det gjør det overalt.Dører knirket og vifta kunne vært smurt.Lytt imellom veggene så man våknet av at hanen galte på morgenen.Oppe på takterrassen serveres det frokost hver dag og det kan ta sin tid.Men alt dette fant vi bare sjarmerende.De som jobber der er jo bare så skjønn:-)Vi brukte ikke bassengområdet -der lyver bildene for bassenget var skittent,det fantes ikke solstoler og bakhagen var overgrodd med palmer.Vi tok taxi til stranda hver dag.Lørdagskvelden inviterte vi våre 7 norske nye venner og hadde middag på takterrassen- da hadde vi byttet til penthousen rett over gangen som har den samme frontterrassen -Wow!200kvm.Anbefaler virkelig å booke 4 roms.Alt i alt hadde vi et fantastisk opphold og anbefaler virkelig hotellet som ligger herskapelig i rolige omgivelser litt unna de verste turistområdene.God tur:)

Nice hotel, nice quiet location.

Pour : The location was just perfect. Close enough to the beech and other holiday necessities yet it felt like an island far from the maddening crow
Contre : There was not enough variety at breakfast.
Emplacement : As stated at top
It was a very pleasant stay. All my needs weren't covered but the wonderful staff went out of their way to try and satisfy all my requests.

more hostel than hotel

hotel facilities in very poor state, power fluctuations blew my phone charger, no running hot water, microwave not working and wasn't replaced, leakage from bathroom plumbing throughout our stay, took four days to fix patio door that had a faulty lock, next apartments toilet extractor fan extracts directly into ours. However, the staff are polite and quite helpful, it wasn't a pleasant experience
