Lazy Bear Lodge Cabin is an authentic hand-hewn log cabin nestled in the woods between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The location, while remote, is convenient to both Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Drive time to the center of Gatlinburg is 15 minutes, the center of Pigeon Forge is 15 minutes, and the entrance to the National Park is 15 minutes. The Arts and Crafts community, Rocky Top Sports World, and East Gatlinburg are a short 5-10 minute drive away.

Nice location!
This property was in a great location, close to everything we wanted to do around the area. Some of the listing pictures are a bit dated, as they no longer have a jacuzzi in the master bedroom. However, they installed new flooring which actually makes it look more modern. We had a few issues with the upstairs shower not working as well as the heating element located in the downstairs bedroom. Not deal breakers, but just slightly inconvenient. Overall, a pleasant stay.

We had a great Christmas week away from NY. The roads aren’t bad after day two. It’s a bit of a shock on day one in the way in. You get used to it fast. We saw bears Christmas morning, which was a real treat! I messaged through VRBO after my stay about something that was left behind and they responded immediately.

Property was overall a good stay!! It could use a deep cleaning and some small maintence issues addressed such as broken locks and windows locks. Also the back deck was warped due to the hot tub leaking causing the hot tub to be unlevel. Overall it was a good place to stay and enjoyed my time!!

As in other reviews the only complaint we had was low water pressure and maybe the beds are a little too firm. The cabin was so nice to just hang out and relax but close enough that you could get to town pretty quickly. Would definitely recommend a high clearance vehicle

Very comfortable
We had a nice stay at Lazy Bear Lodge Cabin. It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The photos are accurate. Communication from Randall was excellent. There is a new build next door of which I wasn't aware, and if you are looking it up on Google Street View, just know there are several more cabins than you'll see that way. So there isn't as much remoteness/privacy as it may seem at first -- but it wasn't an issue. Very comfortable, I would happily stay again!

We enjoyed our stay.
The cabin was very nice and spacious for my family. My wife and son had plenty of room. The bedrooms were big and the living room was great. I would love to see the grounds in the spring and summer. The roads to get to the cabin are narrow but that’s not the owner’s fault. We drove our suburban and it was a little tricky getting out of the parking area but doable. There are some drainage issues, you can hear water draining from somewhere pretty much all the time. I unclogged the upstairs bathroom sink and it helped a lot. Water pressure is low but didn’t bother me as I’m bald but someone with a head full of hair may take a while to wash. But there is no shortage of hot water, and I’m talking really hot so thats a plus. We spent most of our days out sightseeing and eating. Trash bin had enough room for one bag of trash which worked for us as that’s all we had for our 3 night stay. Overall we enjoyed the stay and would rent again.

Not the best not the worst
The owner was great and communicated we had a few issues with our stay though and the maintenance team left a LOT to be desired. The cabin is nice but its is dated and in need of some repairs. The hot tub is small with just a few jets and no power.it was also leaking, the deck wasnt in good shape i imagine due to the leaking hottub. Some of the outdoor furnature was broken the kitchen table chairs were pretty unstable as well. Pool table has been abused as well as the equipment. Its sad people dont take care of rentals and the owner has to tey and keep it up. We also had problems in both batbrooms with draining and no water pressure in showers. They are also building a new house right next to this one so the construction noise started at 730 am and lasted till around 6pm. The mountain road is narrow and dangerous and people fly up and down it. The trashcans by road wete also full so we had no where to put garbage for 5 days. We made the best of it and had fun but there were a lot of inconveniences. Will probably spend more to find something a little safer and nicer next time.

This cabin was described perfectly. The living room furniture was comfortable and the cabin was cozy. We didn’t even need to use the lower level . We were able to have our dog outside some, and he enjoyed that. There is some construction going on around the cabin, but the hours were reasonable and it was fine. We were there two nights and never left the premises as we just wanted to relax. There were a couple of issues - one with a toilet and one with locking the door from the outside when we left. We were able to work around these things and just let the owner know after we left - no big deal. We enjoyed our stay and let him know that.

We spent Christmas in this lovely cabin. We were thrilled with the Christmas decorations when we arrived. It has a nice car pad and sitting area outside. Fantastic: -Mattresses were super comfy! They had added a queen bunk bed in the basement, Plus the futon. -Cookies on the table upon arrival. -Bathrooms were spacious and had amenities. -Kitchen-lots of supplies to choose from. Suggestions/Opportunities/Negatives: -Not a lot of flat space for dog walking/potty breaks. -Lighting-Needs more outside & replace missing lightbulbs. They did have 2 flashlights, We used them outside when we walked the dogs. It helped a lot! Maybe even label the light switches. There were some not working or turning on things we didn’t notice. -Gates on front and back decks. This would help w keeping dogs and kids contained. would have been a bonus feature. -Door replaced or added w washer and dryer. -Rearrange the furniture w the couch on the back door wall. That way you could lay on it and see the tv easily. On the staircase wall; have the chair, table and loveseat. It spreads out the furniture & utilizes all the furniture. The chair by the fireplace is wasted because you can’t see the tv. -Basement door doesn’t close without locking it. -Kitchen table is beautiful but awkward design w the legs. You can’t tuck chairs & they take up extra space. -Take new pictures! New additions are great -It’s a little high/some cars might not make it. I would love to stay again! Highly Recommend!!
