Communication failed
Posted Oct. 21, 2024 on HomeAwayAs with all my bookings I inquired if the property was wheelchair accessible. I was told the owner had had numerous persons in chairs had stayed with no problem.
When we got to the property things were not as advertised.
There is a steep walkway to get to the unit. Inside the doorway to the bathroom, we were unable to navigate it. The door is not 23" as I requested and there is a stairway that infringes on a chair making the turn to the door.
The owner has placed a ramp between the bedroom and the living area. But it is too short and thus too steep.
The owner, who lives upstairs, came down and had to help lift my chair over the threshold to the front door.
Once the owner saw the difficulty, we were having he agreed to refund 1/2 of our rental cost. But with all the ad on charges you incur using VRBO, the refund was far short of 1/2.
Due to the problems above we were unable to stay and had to spend time looking for a hotel at the late hour.

Location location location...
Posted Sep. 8, 2024 on HomeAwayLove the location and convenience. Close to everything and plenty of choices in restaurants and shopping. There is really no need for a vehicle as everything was within walking range. Would definitely stay again. Very nice owners.

Sevierville Get Away
Posted Jul. 29, 2024 on HomeAwayWe had a very relaxing stay in this cute, cozy rental. It was very clean and provided everything we needed to be comfortable. Bed was super comfortable and the apartment was well appointed. Jim and JoAnn were great hosts, accessible for questions. We enjoyed our chats, as well. Thank you both for a pleasant, relaxing trip.

Nice relaxing week!

No communication
Posted Mar. 21, 2024 on HomeAwayNever stayed there. He didn't get back to me to let me know we had the property so I booked elsewhere.
Didn't even get my cleaning fee back and we didn't use the property. We didn't find out we had it until the day before we left . We are a 78 year old couple who wanted to know where we were staying. Rented from someone else who kept in touch the whole time

Peg, we acknowledged your booking when we received it. I don't know why you didn't know it was acknowledged. When you canceled at the last moment I spoke with an employee at VRBO. I explained I didn't know you were not aware of my acceptance of your reservation. In fact, I don't have my account setup so I have to accept your reservation. With my account a guest is automatically accepted. I did not receive anything to tell me you were not aware your reservation was accepted for my account. I didn't learn you were canceling until a day before you were to arrive. I explained to VRBO that your late cancellation did not qualify for a refund. I had too little time to rebook for the dates you reserved. But I did explain to VRBO that we would personally refund you whatever we receive from a new reservation for any of the dates you reserved and then cancelled. That didn't happen so no refund. I'm sorry this happened to you. But what works for us with all other reservations did not work for you. And the information of what I just wrote was in the VRBO site for you to see. Again, I'm sorry this happened to you.

Ideal location!
