Good Initial - Found Out More Later
Publié le 25 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWhen we first checked in, I gave the initial survey a 5 out of 5 for cleanliness. As the 4-day stay wore on, you could see more and more instances of the condo not having been deep cleaned in quite a while. Mold or black debris was hanging from the bottom of the top deck, visible from the owner's bedroom. Walking in bare feet resulted in black-bottomed feet. Nearly all dishes pulled from the cupboards had debris or felt greasy to the touch. The silverware in the drawer was not an entire set and we had to go out and purchase plastic spoons and forks. Accent pillows were stained. We LOVE a pet-friendly rental and brought our dogs, but within a couple of hours of walking on the carpets, you could see previous pet stains coming to the top of the rug. (our pets had already been walked and the stains were NOT new. All in all, we LOVE Shaver and the Bretz Mills condos...and probably will return. We just wish to see the units in better shape than it seemed this visit.

We had a family of 6 adults and 2 kids, fit us perfectly. Main problem was the constant road noise, we kept the windows closed most of the time. They need to fix a few things that are worn out; frayed carpet, dirtly potholders, dead lightbulb, missing sliding screen, broken blinds, broken chair, and the loft area needs more headroom and a better handrail for adults to access. Surrounding grounds were great for walking the dogs. The parking was picky about "only two" yet I saw a guy take up six spots to park his boat. Kitchen was real nice, but the dishes were dirty.

Great Place

It was a very cold week and he said the downstairs bedroom was a bit drafty.

Smoke & Neighbor Bass
Publié le 10 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayImmediately upon walking in the front door, and for the entire time throughout the condo, it smelled like cigarette smoke. This place seriously needs to be deodorized.
The kitchen is updated with a nice marble countertop, dining room, and cozy living room with a wood burning fireplace.
After we settled in and cooked and ate a nice home meal, the neighbors of this duplex with 1 shared wall arrived home. They turned on their music and left it on until about 10:30pm with bass emanating through the walls and vibrating the dishes in our kitchen cabinets. I'm not sure if these are the owners or renters, but the stereo system was playing the 2nd night as well, and they left it on all night, despite us being respectful and turning off all of our noise at 10pm.
Upstairs had a nice loft with a twin bunk for kids with their own bathroom. Downstairs was COLD and the only way to get enough heat to survive the night is to crank up the heaters in the bedrooms, shut the doors, and pile on the blankets. The mattresses downstairs were of low quality.
Overall, this condo was not at all worth the money, and we won't be coming back.

Upon reading your review, I can understand why you might feel disappointed. The strong cigarette smoke odor upon entering the home and the persistent noise from the neighbors definitely seem like major inconveniences that could have affected your overall experience. It's unfortunate that the condo didn't meet your expectations, and I'm sorry for any discomfort or inconvenience this may have caused you.
